Lastly, we note that this role for FAK is independent of its kinase activity but requires nuclear translocation. Therefore, next generation FAK targeted therapies aimed at protein degradation may offer additional therapeutic benefit for the treatment of PDAC.

In this work we show that FAK promotes the secretion of IL6 by #PDAC cells which acts in concert with IL4 from CD4 T-cells to promote stromal PD-L2. High PD-L2 correlates with poor prognosis in patients with #PancreaticCancer
Inihibitors targeting FAK are currently in clinical trials in combination with #Immunotherapy. This work contributes to broaden our understanding of how best to utilise these therapies to beat cancer sooner!
