Recently, my wife and I realigned financially. How did we get misaligned? It was my fault.🐜 I started buying too much stuff! Mostly collectibles…not because I needed them, but because I wanted them Thankfully, I didn’t put us into financial ruin, but I know where that road can lead. Every dollar I spent chasing another collectible was a dollar that wasn’t working toward our future. The hard part is…this isn’t who we were. We used to sit down together at the beginning of every month and tell our money where to go. We’d check in halfway through the month, and at the end, we’d see how closely we followed the plan. Then I got our train off the rails. And recently…we got back to that rhythm😊 We made changes so we both know exactly what’s happening with our finances…because this isn’t my money, and it isn’t her money…It’s our money! She forgave me, we moved forward together Now we’re talking about our future again instead of the next thing I want to buy💜 Will I buy another collectible?💯 But from now on, I’ll save for it first and if it fits our plan, great. If not, I’ll pass…living with intention and being accountable! When I got our train off the rails, I slipped into a cycle of believing that buying things was going to make me happy… Turns out, what truly makes me happy is seeing my wife more at peace because we’re building our future together, communicating clearly about our financial goals, and making better decisions🙌 I stopped chasing stuff so my wife and I can live on purpose😎 And amazingly, I feel less stress every day since we got realigned! Experiencing that, and seeing my wife at peace is what truly makes me happy🙏
