Probably added (my estimate) £10-13m to the value of the squad with that change in HG status.
Ecstatic to have contributed to that - a worthwhile personal lifetime contribution to the club from me.
A seat alongside Terry Brown at games will suffice as thanks. #nostatuepls

Greta Thunberg is not in the Epstein files, but Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, and Donald Trump are.
Strand Larsen now getting £50m bids refused. Quite a rise to prominence. Not sure I think he's quite at that level, but the market seems to say different...
An outside bet I'd consider as #ghostDoF is Jorgen Strand Larsen, 22yo CF at Groningen. Not the most complete player yet, but has a strong record in front of goal (0.44xG per 90), positive attitude, has pace as well as strength. Would he make the jump to the PL? Not sure. £7m.

Whoever is appointed, anything less than a (very unlikely) major surge in form will leave the club in an awkward position in the Summer, w a manager with a mixed record.
Ofc if there's a downturn then the club will have literally created a crisis through lack of patience. #whufc

Infuriating listening to the news perkily report that we have a 'false autumn'.
Little mention that:
- 2024 is the hottest year ever recorded, hotter than in over 100,000 years.
- Carbon dioxide levels are higher than in millions of years.
- Scientists are screaming at us that we are in deep trouble.

I'm still checking the xG+xA figures per 90 for the league. Antonio currently topping this and given his injury might maintain the top spot (understat). Incredible achievement really, pity it will be ignored. Josh Maja is 'interesting' too. (Lingard is 0.54 btw)

There's a lot of talk around the potential signing of John Victor, largely negative.
With a view to provide a balanced view of things, I'm going to throw together some tweets whilst I sit around at 2am on a night shift not doing anything better.
So here goes nothing👇
Ndoye €42m to Forest. Would have been a smart investment in 2023.

Ndoye joined Bologna. €9-11m seems to be the spread of rumoured prices. Nice price, and the flexibility of the player would be so useful. Game I saw he excelled at RWB.
Beukema. €7m -> €31m (to Napoli). Good investment.
Suspect this is a very good value deal for Beukema, 24yo improving CB who played both semi-final legs against us. Bologna one of the masters at finding sub-€10m value. #ghostDoF23 #donedeals

If you want value in a market they say you gotta be a) non-consensus and b) right.
It's easy to be consensus and right (that's expensive). It's easier to be non-consensus and wrong (that's waste).
Hardest to thread the needle.
Actually thought €16m was a little overpriced when Elanga joined Forest.
Now at €61m+ it's hard to complain!

#ghostDoF23 bids for Anthony Elanga (21yo forward, Man Utd 2026 contract)
£8m
Still u21. The fringes of the Man Utd first team not a bad place to target. Pace, dribbling, goal threat. Has played most attacking roles. Hard to know exactly what he can produce.
Tillman €35m to Leverkusen after 1 season. Quick triple-up!

Tillman for €12m - outstanding signing, fantastic price for a player of this quality / potential from Bayern (though they do have a buy-back option).
When I talk about the best recruitment options we should emulate, it's gold-standard deals like this.

Ofc with different timing and some better form we might have got more for Kudus.
Given the situation, it's a good price imo. Not all sales can be perfect.
Can totally understand why he had to be sold.
Hoping we now buy well. #whufc
Barry now €30m+ a season later. Quick doubling of value for Villarreal - smart move!

Barry joining Villarreal for €15m apparently. Another affordable striker! teapawt.net/FabrizioRomano/status/…

The entire UK political/media narrative on welfare is that it is "burgeoning", "a burden" & "unsustainable". But how high is it compared to others? UK welfare is 10.8% of GDP in 2023 (including pensions). Finland spends 25.7% of GDP; France 23.8%: both double the UK.

Maxim De Cuyper is a good player. 21yo LB at Westerlo, on loan from Club Brugge. Needs to play a season in the top flight for a work permit. #ghostDoF
Sadiki gone to Sunderland. Always left wondering in these cases what they might have cost a year ago. Half?
