Coaching is about relationships.
When guys -- or women -- know that you care about them, that you know what you're talking about, that you can make them better, they're going to be more willing to run through a wall for you."

Hard work is not a penalty for wanting more.
It is the price you pay to become capable of more.
Hard work is not the obstacle.
It is the opportunity.
You do not earn excellence by wanting it.
You earn it by repeatedly doing what it requires.

One of the quickest ways to diagnose an offense is to track its dribble-to-pass ratio.
Every unnecessary dribble gives the defense time to recover. Every timely pass forces defenders to shift, communicate, and rotate.
Watch the best teams in basketball. The ball rarely sticks.
Ask yourself:
• Are we dribbling because we have an advantage?
• Or because we don’t know what to do next?
Great offense is built on purposeful ball movement... not excessive ball handling.

Every coach says they want players to play with confidence.
Confidence doesn't mean shooting whenever you touch it.
Confidence means making the right play.

Most coaches think culture is built in team meetings.
It isn't.
It's built in the small moments that happen every single day.
The conversation before practice.
The locker room after a loss.
The bus ride home.
Small moments done over time.
That's where culture is built. 👇

Saw a lot of great bball this weekend.Only saw a couple good pg's out of like 40 but the glaring thing is many kids don't pass the ball or don't pass it on time.Easy shots are hard to come by cuz of the lack of passing. Coaches don't coach it or have consequences for not doing it

Today's basketball often celebrates difficult shot-making.
Elite basketball celebrates creating easy shots.
Open layups.
Paint touches.
Corner 3s.
Free throws.
Advantage attacks.
The best offensive players don’t prove how tough a shot they can make.
They prove how easy they can make the game for themselves and their teammates.
