Could backyard gardens replace big agriculture? We’ve done it once before, says Jill Malone. While all of America’s young men—including many farmers—were fighting during World Wars I and II, the U.S. government encouraged families to grow their own food in what they called “victory gardens.” From Central Park to school lawns, victory gardens were everywhere. “It was enormously successful,” Jill Malone says, “we were producing as much food in our victory gardens as had been grown on the farms out in the rural countryside.” Victory gardens, Jill argues, “demonstrate that we, the people, can take charge of our food in an effective way because we've done it in the past.” @RWMaloneMD @JillGMalonePhD

New York fined three Amish schools $118,000 for letting 59 unvaccinated children attend class. That was one day. The law allows $2,000 per child, per day. 45 states and DC still allow religious exemptions. New York ended its in 2019. When the choice is comply or leave the state, that isn't consent.
Aaron Siri just revealed the real reason why New York launched a massive legal attack on unvaccinated Amish communities. “These kids are healthy.” “They don’t suffer from any of the chronic diseases that plague American children.” “If this was about health, New York State should be looking at these kids as models and asking, why are they healthier?” “Why do these… Amish children not suffer from the chronic health conditions that are plaguing over 40% [of children] according to the CDC?” “Some data reflects even higher.” “This is up from under 10% of kids having a chronic health condition in America in the early ’80s.” “What’s changed?” “Maybe they should take a look at this community instead of trying to force upon them the same type of lifestyle that… has resulted in that increase.” @AaronSiriSG

Aaron Siri just told me that New York’s legal fight against the Amish over their refusal to comply with vaccine mandates puts our First Amendment to a major test. “The state of New York has now told them… you want to stay in this state, you need to abandon your religious beliefs.” Watch our full interview below: theepochtimes.com/epochtv/in…

New York has fined three Amish schools over $100,000. Why? For refusing to comply with vaccine mandates. “That’s $2,000 per student per day.” “The state of New York has now told them… you want to stay in this state, you need to abandon your religious beliefs.” Aaron Siri sees this case as a significant threat to religious freedom in America. “The Amish want to be able to practice their religion in peace in New York.” “They want to continue engaging in the manner that they have lived for almost 200 years in New York.” “These are small one-room classrooms.” “Amish buildings on Amish land with Amish teachers.” “All paid for by the Amish.” “Even over $100,000 is far too much to ask the Amish to pay.” “The state of New York knows that.” “They are intent on having the Amish abandon their beliefs or leave New York.” @AaronSiriSG

Texas Governor Greg Abbott just exposed the reality of Chinese Communist Party transnational repression. “Some of [it] is more obvious.” “Some of [it] is more secretive… ” We’ve experienced this transnational repression from the CCP ourselves. The Epoch Times was founded by Chinese Americans. The CCP has not liked our reporting on China. And Governor Abbott deserves credit for leading the way in protecting Texas and its citizens from this kind of repression. His administration has led a dramatic shift in the approach to dealing with CCP infiltration across the board. Land ownership. Critical infrastructure contracts. State government contracting and investment. Technology and government devices. Higher education partnerships. K-12 curriculum. @GregAbbott_TX

Three Amish schoolhouses have been fined a combined total of $118,000 for allowing unvaccinated Amish children to attend. State law allows New York to fine a school up to $2000 per child per day for failing to meet vaccine requirements. In other words, the fines could get much worse and potentially add up to millions of dollars for one school year. Aaron Siri, one of the attorneys representing the Amish in their lawsuit against New York, said: “If the Supreme Court doesn't side with the Amish…It can have very devastating consequences.” “You might very well see judges across the country use that as a precedent to say,” Siri warns, “why should I respect your rights? Why should I grant you an injunction? Why should I…stop the government from infringing on your religious freedoms?” “The Amish case truly is,” Siri states, a “crossroad moment.” “We're going to decide which way are we going as a society.” “Are we going to respect…one of the shining principles [that] made this country great,” Siri asks, “or are we going to go down and devolve into the path where we slowly cede all our rights to some central authority?” @AaronSiriSG

Texas Governor Greg Abbott just revealed the real reason why he put a “halt” on new data centers. This will shock you. “Less than 20%” were in compliance with state law on water and power usage. “Data center growth in Texas was on an unsustainable pathway.” “Texas law required two things.” “One is for every data center that either was operational or wanted to operate, they must disclose to the Public Utilities Commission how much power they were using and how much power they would need in the future.” “And… they were all required to disclose to the Texas Water Board how much water they were using.” “For each of those categories, less than 20%… actually complied with what the law required.” “So there’s a pause on it until we get all the information.” “Here’s the bottom line.” “Going forward, these data centers must provide their own power as opposed to taking it off the power grid.” “They must do so in a way that lowers the cost of electricity.” “Second, with new technology invented right here in Texas, they will be able to have water that will cool their data center without taking an ounce of water from any of our communities.” “The last thing is they don’t need to be building data centers in our neighborhoods or in our rural settings.” “They have to be good neighbors, good partners, helping, not harming our residents in Texas.” @GregAbbott_TX

What do Tesla and Coca-Cola have in common? The CCP has stolen critical intellectual property from both. I asked David Shedd to explain how. He’s the former acting director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and co-author of “The Great Heist: China’s Epic Campaign to Steal America’s Secrets.” In 2018, Elon Musk got a first-of-its-kind deal: Tesla could operate in China without a joint venture partner, something no other American automaker had. There was much fanfare about it all. But what Musk and others at Tesla didn’t know was that an engineer inside the company was preparing to secretly hand Tesla’s golden goose, its autopilot technology, to the CCP. That technology is “now currently found in…the BYD, EX Motors, and others.” “That's a billion-dollar heist.” Or again with Coca-Cola: “Why would China be interested in Coca-Cola?” “The Chinese weren't interested in the secret formula. They were interested in getting the chemistry behind the inside of the cans of Coca-Cola.” “Why?” “Because those cans have a formulation to prevent oxidation, while those cans sit on the grocery shelf or in your home, for the Coca-Cola acidity not to eat through the can.” “It's the lining now that is inside their ballistic missile fuel containers in order to protect against that oxidation.” Americans need to understand, says Shedd, that “every aspect of the Chinese economy supports the state…it is intended to both aggregate power to the state, but also to maintain the power of the state.”

The CCP’s security apparatus now uses robot dogs. Former acting DIA Director David Shedd says they were replicated from the work of a Ph.D. student at MIT. He explains how American research ended up in the regime’s hands, without anyone breaking in. “That was actually a joint project with Chinese collaboration, which now is part of the Ministry of State Security.” “It’s part of their public security apparatus.” “They have replicated this off of a Ph.D. student at MIT who provided all the CAD drawings and all that.” “So it was hiding in plain sight.” “I can’t even call that espionage.” “That student was required to, when asked, to prepare that paper and provide all those details, which were then transferred to China.” “And then the manufacturing took place, and now you see these dancing dogs that are robotic dogs.”

In Communist China, there is no truly private company. Under Article 7 of the regime’s 2017 National Intelligence Law, every Chinese citizen, at home or abroad, must support the CCP’s intelligence work when asked. Former acting DIA Director David Shedd explains what that means. “Every aspect of the Chinese economy supports the state.” “This is not to suggest that every Chinese person is a spy on behalf of the state.” “When asked, they are coerced to cooperate, or they have to volunteer, and I say that in air quotes, to support the request generally coming from the Ministry of State Security.”

In 2015, the CCP stole 22.5 million security clearance files from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Former acting DIA Director David Shedd’s file was one of them. He explains why that data is a goldmine for Beijing’s spies. “The SF86 is the form that gives up all your relationships in terms of family, friends, neighbors, and others in order to get your security clearance or maintain your security clearance.” “Your polygraph results, if you’ve been polygraphed.” “Imagine that data in the hands of the Chinese in order to find vulnerabilities.” “22.5 million records, so past and present up to that point, were taken.” “I think of my CIA career of nearly 33 years. I would set up its own directorate to exploit that kind of data.” “If you can find 1% to 5% of individuals that are vulnerable to blackmailing or to some other coercion form.” “What a target-rich environment that produces for the targeteers. That being the Ministry of State Security.”

The Chinese stole the background investigation records of 22.5 MILLION federal employees and contractors in 2015. Even today, few realize the true implications of this breach. It allowed the CCP to carefully map out the pressure points it could exploit for all these millions of people working for the federal government. David Shedd, former acting director of the DIA, was among those who had his information stolen. “I was part of 22.5 million security dossiers,” Shedd says. Those files included SF-86 forms — the detailed questionnaires required for security clearances. They list close relationships (family, friends, neighbors), personal history, and in many cases polygraph results. “Imagine that treasure trove of data.” “Imagine that data in the hands of the Chinese in order to find vulnerabilities.” “Think of it,” Shedd warns, “if you can find 1% to 5% of individuals that are vulnerable to blackmail, or to some other coercion… What a target-rich environment that produces for the targeters.”

The new “D” risk indicator on China’s Travel Advisory is a major signal. It means the U.S. @StateDept has formally determined that Americans face a serious risk of wrongful detention by in China: arbitrary imprisonment, to be used as leverage, with no due process. The threat level stays at 2, "Exercise Increased Caution," but the “D” is the key new warning. For context, the next threat level up is "Reconsider Travel," i.e. avoid non-essential travel. Upgrading to threat level 3 would likely elicit a CCP rebuke. Bottom line: "D" designation reflects the official U.S. position on how the CCP treats Americans.
‼️ A State Dept spokesperson told @EpochTimes : On October 19, the Department of State updated the Travel Advisory for mainland China to add the “D” risk indicator due to the risk of wrongful detention in China.   - The Department of State has determined that Americans are at serious risk of wrongful detention in China. - The Department’s overall Travel Advisory level for mainland China remains unchanged at Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution. - The Trump Administration is committed to securing the release of Youlin Chen, Min Zin, and all Americans wrongfully detained overseas.

Heart disease is the #1 cause of death for women. Women are roughly two-thirds of Alzheimer’s cases and the large majority of autoimmune patients. At the Rose Garden today, First Lady @MELANIATRUMP and @realDonaldTrump just launched a new @NIH Women’s Health Division and a White House Women’s Health Task Force to focus on harnessing new technologies and working across the federal government to advance women’s health. The division will work alongside the existing NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health. Focuses include: heart disease, cancer, autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, endometriosis, infertility, maternal health, menopause, and Alzheimer’s disease, among other health issues that hit women hardest. The new task force will be co-chaired by HHS Secretary @RobertKennedyJr and White House Chief of Staff @SusieWiles47, herself a recent survivor of breast cancer.
