We demolished Bournemouth. And look what Utd served up. Dreadful result for us. Utd get yet another new manager bounce next week. They’ll beat us as they always do. And then we get the baton as the shambolic club of the week.
Full-time.

Another new manager bounce for Utd at Stamford Bridge then. A great weekend for Belgian GKs…
"What a finish!" 😮‍💨 Evanilson makes it 3-0 to Bournemouth with a stunning goal

God this is tiresome. ‘Spurs dominated in every area.’ Ask yourself why they dominated after dropping Solanke and choosing to play without a striker. It really isn’t difficult to understand. If Welbeck was the answer what happened at Brentford?

Losing Joao Pedro shouldn’t mean imploding twice in London derbies. Spurs dominated us without a striker and we could have used the exact same system as them. It’s possible to win with two number 10s and two wingers as Spurs proved.

These fans must have missed the Brentford game. Welbeck saved us that day eh? We could have matched Spurs up with a box midfield, two wingers staying wide and no striker and actually had some of the ball. Chucking a striker on changes nothing if you don’t touch the ball.
Sort of game that needs an apology. Every single person in the stands. In front, behind, to the left, to the right, about 5 rows away were in agreement we needed a striker on that pitch and whatever we were trying was not working, could see that from minute 20.

For fans who think a striker changes that game, why did De Zerbi drop Solanke today? Spurs dominated *because* they didn’t have a striker. Welbeck walking around with Rogers and Palmer would only have made it easier for Spurs. They wanted us to empty midfield.
Not comparable. Tuchel’s England deserved the lead at the time but football heritage is England being fearful. Tonight was the complete opposite to how a Chelsea team should perform at home. It wasn’t an unlikely defeat either. We didn’t look like scoring, had a striker on the bench.

Ignore the Penders error and Palmer being an idiot. Spurs completely outplayed us and we never touched the ball. Spurs had 4 - and at times 5 - players in midfield. We just had Caicedo and Henderson. You can't do anything if you never see the ball!
After showing the right mentality to win at #EFC last week, that is a bad defeat for #CFC tonight. Outplayed for long periods and lost their heads again too. #CHETOT

Penders and Joao Pedro are sideshows. Spurs' box midfield with Tonali, Fernandes, Maddison and Marmoush dominating Henderson and Caicedo decided the game. We never touched the ball! You can't get a striker into the game let alone win it if you never see the ball! #CHETOT

Yeeesh Penders letting that in from 30 yards too! #CHETOT

Well that's not going to help Penders' confidence. That was Kepa levels of appalling. #CHETOT

Shocking from Penders. Go to the ball! Don't wait for it to come to you. #CHETOT

That had to go in. Bad miss from Neto in such a tight game. #CHETOT

Look at that. 2 mins into the half and both Palmer and Rogers are coming back to help out in midfield! That should have happened 47 mins ago. #CHETOT
The issue is clearly midfield. Sky screaming for Welbeck to rescue us is missing the point. We can't touch the ball to pass it to anyone in the final third whether it's Welbeck or Rogers. Spurs are dominating the middle of the pitch. #CHETOT

Fernandes, Tonali, Maddison, Marmoush and Gray are all in midfield. How can Henderson and Caicedo get the ball when it’s 5 vs 2 in there? Palmer and Rogers have to help out instead of standing up front. Or we need Lavia. Not sure Welbeck will help us get a touch of the ball.
That was a shocking first half. We can’t play without a striker and we’ve suddenly forgotten how to play football on a wet pitch.

Very messy. And that’s before we talk about the weather. We look like a side who trained all week with Joao Pedro then had to come up with a new system a few hours before the game. 4 Spurs midfielders vs Henderson and Caicedo is a no contest. #CHETOT
Goalless at the break. #CFC | #CHETOT

Spurs also playing without a striker today. 8 players fighting for the ball in the middle of the pitch won’t be pretty.

No Joao Pedro in the squad, Welbeck is named on the bench so looks like Rogers up top. Penders starts as expected with Martinez injured.

Oh dear. No Joao Pedro. What happened since yesterday and all the pictures of him training at Cobham? #CHETOT

Pleased for Jackson. Has wild extremes and it all got messy with the red cards and running off to Bayern. But when he’s the main man he’s quality. (No it doesn’t mean he should have stayed. £65m strikers have to start. He had no chance of doing that with Joao Pedro around)
Nicolas Jackson SMASHES it past Donnarumma! 💥 Should the goalkeeper be doing better there? 😬 📺 Stream now on TNT Sports & HBO Max streamonm.ax/4ySzugq

Hate keepers that run behind their line when trying to make a save. Kepa did this all the time. You can’t stop anything if you’re two yards behind your own goal line!
