I have a whole chapter on this single, video, and LP in 'A Little More Love: The Life and Legacy of Olivia Newton-John.' Olivia conceived of the exercise-themed video so as to downplay the (for its time) suggestive nature of the lyrics, which led to radio bans in Utah.
45 years ago today, Olivia Newton-John released the single "Physical." It became the biggest single of 1982 and spent 10 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
I have no idea how long it will last, but right now Amazon US is selling the Kindle book of "A Little More Love: The Life and Legacy of Olivia Newton-John" for $1.99.
