People find Rhodesia interesting because it was Anglo and had a dramatic beginning and ending, like any good story should; the entire story was also recent There was pretty much no racemixing to speak of and so the lines aren’t blurred, the story is us (Whites) vs them (the Africans). No one has ever claimed Rhodesia was majority White, only that it was firmly ruled by the White minority (5%). Most Blacks barely existed to the Whites, the bulk were off in rural reservations. It was the White man’s country despite being a minority numerically No one knows anything about Brazil in the anglophone world except that it’s now a mixed raced mess. If the Iberian world has interesting stories about their colonies that we aren’t aware of then you’re all welcome to share them with us, I find both their empires fascinating. The right has already adopted the Reconquista and the Spanish civil war, so it’s not an anti-med thing.
