It's almost always not about the tools or the rituals but rather the willingness of team leaders to delve one level deeper into challenges. People often complain about lack of engagement, yet they seldom dare to have the uncomfortable conversations that could reveal why the team is unproductive or apathetic. Check-ins do work, period. What often doesn't work is the underlying dynamics within the team. Fix that first. This is an excellent post from @johncutlefish that resonated immensely with my experience. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

It took me a while but I've finally written a post about my journey to becoming an engineering manager, especially after being recently diagnosed with ADD. I hope you find it helpful. Reading about other people's experiences certainly helped me link.medium.com/xrZ8CagdMBb

Remote work isn't just about working from home. It requires deliberately designing processes for async collaboration.
As leaders and managers, our job is to create an environment where every team member can thrive, regardless of location.

👏 Love this article by @techtello betterprogramming.pub/too-ma… - I used all of these approaches
Another effective thing was to push against having a meeting if there was no agenda, or I knew that participants can hash things out in an async way (in Docs/Notion/etc) first
