There's so much that could be said about Walter Koenig, but I wanna give a special shout-out to his performance in the Wrath of Khan - he does such a fantastic job selling the vicersal horror of the ear bug, and, by extension, the sheer menace of Khan as a villain.

Bill Shatner is not a friend but his work on Boston Legal cannot be disputed. He brought a great deal to his performance.

It’s hard for me to take most critique of Letterboxd as a social platform seriously because it’s one of the only platforms that doesn’t actually use any recommendation algorithms. Your experience with it is entirely dependent on who/what you choose to interact with.
always baffled by people complaining about having to suffer idiots on Letterboxd. unless i’m going out of my way, i only ever see things people i follow post. it’s one of the chillest social medias because of that

RIP Walter Koenig. Forever iconic because of his portrayal of Chekov on Star Trek, but I want to show some love to his very underrated turn as the arch-villain, psychic cop "Alfred Bester" on Babylon 5.
#RIP Walter Koenig. As Chekov on ‘Star Trek,’ he got lots of mail “from 8- to 14-year-olds. They said, ‘I think you’re groovy, I love your hair’ — which was a wig, by the way. I got hundreds and hundreds of letters, the third most after Bill and Leonard.” hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-…

Film culture escaping IMDB's boomer/gen x tyranny and being given a new place for younger people to consolidate around has opened up an entire generation to different kinds of movies and if the cost is being forced to see teenagers posting annoying reviews it's a fair tradeoff
Replying to @staticbluebat
people who are too young to remember a world before letterboxd really don't understand. it's been the most significant positive force for cinephilia of the century. for all its faults, it has completely changed film culture for the better

He’ll always be Pavel Chekov to me (was a delight to revisit The Voyage Home this year, where he has some of his best moments from the movie series) but so too was he Babylon 5’s Alfred Bester. RIP.
Horrible news about Walter Koenig

He was born in 1946 in a lake. He died in 2455 reentering orbit. He was an astronaut.
Can you believe he’s going to take Manhattan one day

I'm in complete shock and disbelief. A tremendously talented and kind coworker who I always had great conversations with and learned from. Sending so much love to his family. He was a giant. A titan in our industry.
