🚨Hilary Cass has called for an independent inquiry into how Brighton GPs were allowed to prescribe cross-sex hormones to children as young as 12.“There urgently needs to be an investigation of why every system that should have protected children, young people, and indeed young adults has failed,” she told me.
The employment tribunal between Dr Sarah Redvers and NHS Sussex has highlighted how regulators and the NHS collectively failed to stop prescribing of puberty blockers and hormones against national guidelines - for years - and how instead the person raising concerns was accused of transphobia and herself investigated.
Dr Redvers sat down with me for her only newspaper interview about her treatment in a scandal which, Cass now says, “dwarfs” that of the Tavistock’s GIDS.

We have written to the British Medical Association @TheBMA following the publication of NHS guidance on single-sex spaces.
Their statement on the guidance is highly concerning and reiterates a commitment to encouraging its members to continue to break the law.

We are already receiving correspondence from medical professionals who no longer wish to be part of the BMA because of this statement.
Here is the BMA's current chairman...

There is something deeply disturbing about the fact that the man entrusted with Britain’s national security is married to a journalist who has publicly questioned the testimony of Israeli rape victims, pooh-poohed solidarity with Israel the day after October 7 and apparently supported a proscribed terror group.
Jonathan Powell, Keir Starmer’s national security adviser, occupies one of the most sensitive positions in government. He is privy to Britain’s deepest intelligence secrets, helps shape our response to terrorism and advises the prime minister on matters of war and peace. His wife, Sarah Helm, is entitled to her own political opinions, however grotesque. But her social media posts cannot be dismissed as a family matter.
Astonishingly, just as those questions are coming under scrutiny, Helm has chosen to wade into another highly sensitive controversy about British tradition, Gaza subversion and antisemitism. In her head, this must be an expression of courageous defiance. Glory to the Mater! To everybody else, it is a danger to our national security.

Explains a lot: "the Permanent Secretary of the DfE had been a Stonewall Champion with a ‘trans’ child, who helped shape the radical new RSE 2019 guidance that turbo charged child indoctrination across the nation."
civilserviceworld.com/in-dep……
This is one of the really cutting edge, powerful truths @HJoyceGender gave us - it illustrates that the ‘trans’ issue is chiefly about grooming, delusions, social contagion and child abuse.
Knowing this, SM and the GCs priority ought to have been getting the children out of the PC of GR, and the PC of GR out of the EA, and the EA out of schools, medicine and other public services - indeed, preferably out of English Law altogether.
But instead they ran around making such a huge fuss about single sex spaces and ‘GC beliefs’, that no one really noticed, exposed or opposed the fact that the Permanent Secretary of the DfE had been a Stonewall Champion with a ‘trans’ child, who helped shape the radical new RSE 2019 guidance that turbo charged child indoctrination across the nation.
civilserviceworld.com/in-dep…
Nor did SM observe or oppose that the UKs then newly appointed Information Commissioner also had a ‘trans’ child, and that he had not only blocked British parents from accessing lesson plans in my FOI case and merrily plastered the Pride Progress flag all over ICO PR, but was an instrumental campaigner for creating self ID in his native New Zealand, where he was Privacy Commissioner under Jacinder Ardern.
thespinoff.co.nz/society/21-…
His arrival in the UK ought to have set alarm bells ringing for anyone rightly concerned how international governance and human rights law were being abused to bypass British democracy and ruin the safety of British women and children with the ‘trans’ cult. But of course, Sex Matters refuse to see this problem, being a human rights charity themselves and committed to balancing women and children’s safety with ‘trans rights’.
(Jonathan Edwards has since been pushed to resign for inappropriate behaviour btw… archive.is/XjLJe)
These are just two extremely powerful people with conflicting personal interests regarding their own ‘trans’ children and political allegiances, who were in positions to cause devastating structural effects across the nation for children’s safeguarding. There are so many others, from school governors to senior politicians.
Why didn’t Sex Matters and other GCs stand up to these people and the safeguarding disaster they created by opposing the laws that empowered them?
Isn’t it time for Sex Matters and the GCs to abandon their own ‘sunk cost’ delusions that human rights and Equality Act lawfare are the answer, and instead put child safeguarding first by calling for repeal?

You probably haven’t heard of Sarah Helm. She is a journalist, author… and wife of Jonathan Powell, Britain's National Security Adviser, the man at the very centre of the state's fight against terrorism.
Yesterday, responding to reports that Sally Rooney's books may no longer be sold in Britain over her alleged support for Palestine Action, she posted this on X: "God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action."
Palestine Action is a proscribed terrorist organisation. Under the Terrorism Act, expressing support for a proscribed group is a criminal offence. Hundreds of people have been arrested for doing exactly that.
Perhaps Ms Helm will say she was being loose with her words. But the household of the man responsible for Britain's national security is not where you'd expect to find what looks very much like a declaration of support for a banned terror group.
Does Downing Street have anything to say? Does it hell.

The BBC has announced a two-part documentary on J.K. Rowling. I’d like to be wrong, but I’m not optimistic she gets a fair shake.
Episode one is a victory lap: the Edinburgh cafés, the books, the billions. Episode two is where the trouble starts. It frames her as “one of Britain’s most polarising public figures,” and the producer says her “unflinching personal beliefs” sparked a “fraught and divisive dialogue.”
That’s not a biography. That’s a setup.
Notice the pattern. The BBC casts her views — keeping women safe from predatory men in female only spaces — as the problem. The release says she finds herself divided from actors and fans who once championed her. It never mentions the women she was defending.
It also doesn’t say who will be interviewed other than to say it will include “people who worked with her.”
Full disclosure: @trishaposner and I share a London literary agent with her. But after four decades reporting on controversial subjects, I don’t pull punches for anyone. I recently walked away from Simon & Schuster, my publisher of many years, over its refusal to condemn a novelist’s vile anti-Jewish hatred.
I’m not defending Rowling out of loyalty. Her activism has been one of the great campaigns for women everywhere. She never asked for the fight and never ran from it, and she took on enormous powers to protect women.
I admire and stand with J.K. Rowling. I hope the BBC proves me wrong but I am not counting on it.

NEW: Some of the Piddington women are sitting in the front row of the public gallery as @joymorrissey warns of the threat posed by illegal migrants.
This bit was particularly striking: “The Government has said middle class areas need to bear their fair share. Using class as a new weapon to silence concerns. It is a dangerous, lazy approach from a Government that is supposed to unite our country.
“This isn’t about class, race or anything else that the party opposite wants to use to silence those speaking up. That technique was used to silence rape gang victims in our cities and towns and it’s appalling Labour has not learned from that scandal. This is about women speaking up about fears for their safety and their children.
“The Prime Minister should listen, the benches opposite should listen. They know these women and their communities will suffer. They know this because we already have proof. Communities across this land have seen their women and girls’ lives ruined. Ruined by a fundamental failure from this Government to protect them from the threat posed by men who come here illegally."

An extraordinary intervention from the leader of MI5, publicly rebuking how extraordinarily foolish Andy Burnham has been in playing politics (yet again) with national security.
Labour must be feeling serious buyer's remorse already.
NEW: MI5 chief Ken McCallum has said Britain must be careful not to exaggerate the impact of Russian interference and bots on democratic events like Brexit, warning that risks doing the Kremlin’s job for them.
“I'm a little bit worried that if we all stay in this debate for another few days that the Russian trolls who didn't appear to do all that at various points over the years, they'll be delighted.
“They are front page news once again, despite the comparative un-impressiveness of much of what they do at all the points along the journey.
“I am a little bit anxious that we don’t play into our adversaries’ hands by making these trolls look 10 feet tall. That’s not our experience of them.”
“There is a really important difference between interference attempted and outcome swayed. It’s quite important to focus on the difference between what may have been attempted and what actually resulted.”
He said he agreed with Andy Burnham’s comments in the House of Commons yesterday, including about the Russian hack-and-leak that was used in the 2019 general election.

🚨Councillor Michael Fife Cook, the leader of the Reform UK group on Devon County Council, raised safeguarding concerns after a large prosthetic penis and literature promoting “chemsex” were displayed at an LGBTQIA+ event in Exeter Library, next to a children’s art and colouring area.
The council then punished him for speaking out. Now, with the Free Speech Union’s backing, he is fighting back.
The event took place on 19th October 2025 as part of Exeter’s Out There Queer Fest. One mother complained that she had been forced to explain to her six- and seven-year-old children what the prosthetic penis was doing there.
A subsequent evidential review identified significant failings in relation to the event.
On 28th November, Cllr Fife Cook emailed fellow councillors and council officers to express his concerns about the safeguarding of children.
He wrote: “I think this makes it clear our council officers can’t be trusted in safeguarding children.”
He also warned that the incident made councillors “complicit in promoting and encouraging sexualisation of children”.
Rather than addressing his concerns, two senior council officers lodged complaints against him under the Council’s Code of Conduct.
On 29th July 2026, Devon County Council’s Standards Committee found that he had breached the Code, including by bringing himself or his office “into disrepute”, despite the independent investigator not having identified that particular breach.
The Committee ordered him to apologise in writing to the officers he had criticised and undergo training with the Council’s Monitoring Officer.
He refused — and rightly so.
An elected councillor should be free to raise concerns about safeguarding, challenge council officers and hold public authorities to account without facing disciplinary action for expressing an unwelcome opinion.
With the backing of the Free Speech Union, Cllr Fife Cook is now challenging the Council’s decision.
On 30th September, his solicitors, Sharpe Pritchard, sent Devon County Council a pre-action letter setting out four grounds of challenge: irrationality, a breach of his Article 10 right to freedom of expression, a failure to give adequate reasons and apparent bias.
But Michael’s case is part of a much wider problem.
Across the country, councillors are facing Code of Conduct complaints for social media posts, criticism of council policies and robust challenges to public officials. Time and again, we hear the phrase “bringing the council into disrepute”.
The Free Speech Union has supported councillors including Steve Horner, Kelvin Wright, Dulcie Tudor and John Edwards, who have faced complaints arising from their political speech.
Even when these complaints are dismissed, the process itself can become the punishment: months of investigations, legal costs, reputational damage and the chilling effect on other elected representatives who may think twice before speaking out.
And the Government wants to give councils even greater powers to punish elected representatives.
Under its proposed reforms, councils would be able to suspend councillors for up to six months, withhold their allowances and bar them from council premises. Two maximum-length suspensions within five years could result in disqualification from office.
Imagine the consequences if these powers were used against councillors simply for expressing contentious political opinions or challenging the conduct of council officers.
The Free Speech Union is supporting Michael’s legal challenge because we believe Codes of Conduct must not be weaponised to silence legitimate political speech.
A victory could help protect councillors across England from similar disciplinary action.
But litigation is expensive, and Michael will not be the last councillor who needs our help.
Please donate to the FSU’s legal defence fund to help us fight Michael’s case and defend the right of elected councillors to speak freely on behalf of the people who elected them 👇
