“It’s very clear Epic owns the market. Its prices are extraordinary. It has killed innovators left and right — it’s time for a change.” A must-read story from Casey Ross and @brittanytrang, who are investigating the electronic health records giant Epic. statnews.com/2026/10/28/epic…

Today, Russia expressed its thanks for the lifting of sanctions on diesel exports by dropping five glide bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia. As of now, sadly, twelve people have been confirmed killed, including three children. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Another fourteen people have been injured, and two of them are in critical condition – the doctors are fighting to save their lives. The status of twelve more people who may have been there is still being verified. All emergency services are at the scene, and search-and-rescue operations are underway. Overnight, thirteen of our regions came under attack. Residential buildings, infrastructure, and railway facilities have been damaged. Last night confirmed once again that in Russia, they take any easing of pressure to mean they can keep fighting, to mean they can keep dropping bombs on cities. Different signals are needed. Russia must understand that it needs to stop the war, and for that to happen, Russia must feel its losses. Right now, it is our long-range capabilities that are ensuring this. And we will respond to Russian strikes. I thank everyone who is helping.

“The video of a wheelchair-bound Hasan executed by firing squad will serve as ready-made propaganda for jihadist groups like Al Qaeda and Islamic State,” says @ColinPClarke. “I don’t understand how this benefits the United States.”
“Hasan should face the death penalty, but making his execution public and streaming it? Beyond disgusting,” says @SenThomTillis. “Public executions are what oppressive dictatorships like Iran and Afghanistan do. It should not be happening in America.” tinyurl.com/2ma4jw6f

Nina Totenberg had her day. Anita Hill was legitimately a major scoop in 1991. I thank her for her service, but the Supreme Court beat now belongs to Josh Gerstein who, along with ProPublica, has actually held the justices accountable like none before or since. My two cents.

As we celebrate #America250, we should thank the French for their help during our Revolutionary War when we needed it the most.  This video shows gas station lines in Russia thanks to their inhumane attempts to deny Ukrainians their independence. I hope we do for Ukraine what France did for the USA.   foxnews.com/video/6399812816…

“They got beat here, fair and square, and it just so happened that I ended up moving the piece from Politico to NYT Opinion due to a series of events that no one could have anticipated at the time that Ruemmler contacted me.” -- writer of NYT Opinion piece of Epstein enabler Kathy Ruemmler The definition of getting "beat" in journalism isn't writing an ass-kissing profile.
New: The New York Times' publication of a guest interview with Kathy Ruemmler has prompted internal debate over the paper’s strict separation between the newsroom and opinion section, and whether powerful figures can leverage that divide status.news/p/new-york-times…
