"Hey RINO, John McCain and Mitt Romney couldn't even win Ohio".
Yeah, well Trumpism lost us Texas, South Carolina, and Mississippi.
Sit down.

I will not be lectured on what loser cucks Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan were by people who managed to lose in Texas.

Within a decade, Connecticut GOP falls from an 18D-18R tie in the State Senate, to a 4R-32D superminority.
Itβs kind of fucked that America has only ever been 1β2 elections from a party cementing itself into permanent power.

In 2024 Florida voters sent 20 Republicans and 8 Democrats to the US House.
In April 2026, Florida enacted a revised map to unwind an unconstitutional racial gerrymander.
Last night, Florida voters likely elected 20 Republicans and 8 Democrats to the US House.
Had the old map been in effect, it would have been 18 Republicans and 10 Democrats.

Final numbers are in and @AyotteNH breathing HUGE sigh of relief. GOP Rep. Jim Creighton ended up 389 votes over Weare Democrat David Trumble. Anybody can seek a recount but that looks like a bridge too far. At 15-9 in NH Senate, Ayotte's got her veto binky. #nhpolitics

-Ayotte pulls it out
-Scott easily hangs on
-Lepage in ME-2 actually a GOP *gain*
-Susan Collins runs way ahead of the party
Can we please talk about New England Republican excellence?
The Senate is historically competitive but shouldnβt be: thereβs more red states than blue states. So, whenever the Democrats are in the majority, itβs because they pulled some bullshit in red states; whenever the Republicans are in the majority, itβs because they played cleanup.
Only respond if youβre a person whose opinion you think I actually care about:
Rank the new Dem senators/governors from how good to how bad they will be.

This is fucking on point. Dems winning power and enacting bad policy isnβt the end of the world. But if they pack SCOTUS, give illegals amnesty, and rig the system in ways that makes it impossible for them to lose power again, THATβS what truly terrifies me.

There is a very interesting mismatch between the elections for *candidates*, which effectively yielded a massive and historic sweep for the Democrats, and the *ballot initiatives*, almost all all of which yielded conservative outcomes, even in the deep blue states (but not VA).

No, the GOP is not getting the Senate back until 2032 at the earliest. Much more likely, Dems get a trifecta, pack the Senate, give blanket amnesty, and they never get it back at all.
And if nothing changes before 2028, all those "416 D" electoral college maps we used to laugh at are going to become a reality, and they won't even need to nuke the filibuster for Project 2029. Maybe we get lucky and they put up El-Sayed or AOC and only get to 319 instead. I don't want that to happen, but that's the reality.
