48 book sales to date 😜 - initial sales were great, friends & followers, the rest through a little X outreach and Amazon KDP ads.
Yesterday I was so close to my initial target 🎯 of 50 books, so I've decided my new target is 100.
I then increased by UK ads to include the kindle format (not just print), then setup new campaign ads for US, Germany, Australia and gosh - I can't remember the other ☕️
My extra overnight sales were? 🥁
Ready?!

Zero - yep, still on 48 books sales 🥺
I'm guessing those ads need to warm up.
This week I plan to use Hermes Agent to help me find other X users discussing AI, reach out with a link to my book along with a relevant excerpt related to what they're discussing.
The difficult part would then be knowing whether it's the KDP ads or the X outreach working.

We maximized usage of the GitHub coding agent this release and learned a lot about building software with agents.
The pros:
Ability to kick off lots of concurrent work, burning through lots of small items on the backlog is amazing.
Less excuses made from the team about tackling smaller issues.
The cons:
Just like real coding, lack of clarity in the spec sends the agent into a spiral.
Giving the coding agent tasks where test coverage was low or difficult to automate meant PRs were backed up waiting for manual verification from humans.
Sometimes subtle bugs got through because the tests passed but the experience was not great after the fix.
The team leaned in and it’s clear that agents will let you deliver an order of magnitude more changes once you adjust your engineering practices around them.
Next steps are:
- Figuring out how to deal with the PR explosion. Same amount of engineers reviewing 5x more PRs, huge bottleneck.
- How to create more test harnesses for agents to use the product not just unit tests (we’re not building websites!). Playwright for the command line?
