Legal fees is for the work of the lawyer. It is not for an outcome. Of course, in some cases, a lawyer can charge success fees - which is dependent on the outcome of the case and what both the lawyer and the client consider success.
If an accused person hires a lawyer to defend and secure an acquittal or a “not guilty” verdict in a case. The lawyer accepts the brief, takes the person’s money, but the person gets a conviction and a sentence Is the person entitled to a refund of the legal fees paid?

You don’t pay any lawyer to secure an acquittal or not guilty verdict. Your right to fair trial is guaranteed under article 19 of the 1992 constitution of Ghana. If you’re innocent, your lawyer will push for a fair trial and you’ll realize it will be difficult for the prosecution to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt as established under the Evidence Act. However if you committed a crime, your lawyer will push for a fair trial and justifiable punishment. There are a lot of considerations that go into the determination of conviction and sentencing. Infact there are several defenses available to the individual that the lawyer can rely on including insanity, being a minor (child), being provoked to cause mental, self defense, defense of property and life of another, breakage of causation and many more. The lawyer will rely on the most appropriate defense to enter escape conviction or rely on mitigating circumstances to have reduced sentence. If the conviction happens and the judgment is against the weight of evidence or the judge was bias or didn’t have jurisdiction etc the lawyer can appeal or invoke the supervisory jurisdiction of the superior court for relief. The lawyer will not refund you for the payment of fees for his service. Same way a doctor will not refund surgery fees if unfortunately for the patient, the surgery didn’t go through.

I don’t think the money is for the ‘outcome’ but rather the work done (representation) unless there’s an agreement of results based payment. From a layman’s POV though✋🏾😎🤚🏾

Today, after my case, a young man was arraigned for stealing, without a lawyer. I decided to represent him and, with the complainant’s consent, paid the amount involved. The matter was then withdrawn. Sometimes, all someone needs is a little help and willing to stand up for them.

DID YOU KNOW WHY THE GA WULOMO WALKS BAREFOOT? Among the Ga people, the Wulomo (traditional priest) is traditionally forbidden from wearing footwear. This is neither a sign of poverty nor an absence of dignity. Rather, it signifies spiritual purity, reverence for the deities and the priest’s perpetual readiness to communicate with the spiritual world. According to Ga traditional belief, the Wulomo must approach the sacred without footwear, much like the biblical account of Moses being instructed to remove his sandals on holy ground. Interestingly, while the Mantse (chief) may wear sandals as part of his regalia, the Wulomo walks barefoot, reflecting the distinction between political and spiritual authority.

They can write as many letters at they want. The video is clear. We can see that the man is clearly doing the assaulting and not any type of victim.
