There’s one problem with some of us; when the opportunity comes abeg make we take am then try wanna hands on it. Here is some great move from the hardworking CEO of NEIP Lawyer Eric Adjei has been putting in the ground works, and the transformation is real. Stay tuned! The Adwumawura impact stories are dropping very soon.
Our candidate, Hon. Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, has consistently maintained close working relationships with both regional and constituency executives, providing administrative support, offering guidance and ensuring that the party's structures function effectively.
Indeed, it would be difficult to identify a National Executive who has remained more accessible and consistently engaged with the grassroots through the demands of her office than Hon. Barbara Serwaa Asamoah.
We must, however, appreciate that grassroots engagement is not defined solely by walking through the streets. Grassroots leadership also means staying connected, listening to concerns, engaging stakeholders, resolving conflicts, providing solutions and ensuring that the party's structures remain functional.
By these standards, Hon. Barbara's reliability, accessibility and commitment to the party's organisational structures are exceptional.
To suggest that the office of Deputy General Secretary is not an administrative responsibility demonstrates a misunderstanding of the constitutional and organisational demands of the position.
If minutes are not properly recorded, correspondence is not dispatched, institutional records are not maintained, meetings are not adequately prepared for and constituency structures are not properly coordinated, the party's organisational machinery will inevitably suffer.
The grassroots require effective structures to function. Without proper administration, coordination and institutional memory, even the most enthusiastic mobilisation efforts can become unsustainable.
This is precisely why our party's organisational structure provides for different portfolios with clearly defined responsibilities.
We have the National Organizer and deputies, Youth Organizer and deputies, and Women's Organizer and deputies, each with distinct responsibilities. Similarly, the General Secretary has two deputies, with responsibilities covering administration and finance on one hand and operations on the other.
The Deputy General Secretary responsible for administration is expected to support the General Secretary through effective administration, documentation, correspondence, meeting preparation, records management and coordination of the party's organisational activities.
These are not insignificant responsibilities. They are essential to the effective functioning of the party. Hon. Barbara Serwaa Asamoah has demonstrated considerable competence in this regard.
Comrades, every one of us in this party has a grassroots story. We all emerged from branches, wards, constituencies and various levels of party organisation. The question, therefore, is not simply who can claim to be a grassroots person.
The more important question is, who possesses the competence, experience, discipline and institutional understanding required to deliver on the responsibilities of the office?
Our party needs individuals who can prepare comprehensive reports, manage and interpret information from 276 constituencies, draft strategic memoranda, coordinate with the Electoral Commission, manage a national secretariat, maintain institutional records and handle sensitive party information with the highest level of confidentiality.
These responsibilities require a particular combination of administrative competence, organisational discipline, sound judgement and political experience.
We must be careful not to reduce grassroots leadership to physical visibility alone. Both field operations and secretariat administration are indispensable to the success of our party. One should not be used to diminish the importance of the other.
Indeed, our party has, on several occasions, witnessed the difference between the excitement of mobilisation and the discipline required to sustain effective leadership after elections. Winning an election is one responsibility, delivering on the mandate is another. The office of Deputy General Secretary requires someone who understands that distinction.
Those whose strengths lie primarily in mobilisation and field organisation should be encouraged to excel in the appropriate organisational portfolios. Equally, those with proven administrative competence must be given the opportunity to serve where their strengths can best benefit the party.
Comrades, this election should be about competence, experience, institutional understanding and the ability to deliver.
Hon. Barbara Serwaa Asamoah has demonstrated that she understands the demands of the office and possesses the administrative capacity to support the effective running of our party.
Let us make a decision based on the responsibilities of the office, not merely on popular descriptions of grassroots politics.
Vote for competence.
Vote for experience.
Vote for administrative excellence.
Vote for Hon. Barbara Serwaa Asamoah.
Because effective grassroots work requires a strong and efficient secretariat. The desk that coordinates the work is just as important as the field that executes it.

Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Ranking Member on Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee, has declined an invitation from President John Dramani Mahama to appear before a committee investigating alleged fraud in the 2026 FIFA World Cup visa acquisition process.
He cited concerns over what he described as a lack of transparency and secrecy surrounding the committee’s work.
