The country is not Far Right and it’s not Far Left. Whichever Party manages to figure that out and govern accordingly will do well!

ON THIS NIGHT of blue-wave celebrations and “Trump-is-toast” toasts, I hate to break this news to Democratic Party leaders: Unless you get your acts together, you’ll be the next victims of angry voters rising up against the status quo. You didn’t win tonight. Trump lost.
"4 Things the Democratic Party Must Do to Make Tonight’s Shellacking Stick" It starts by recognizing that most voters still hate them. 1/5 convulsions.substack.com/p/4…

Tidal wave watch:
Want a sense of how bad things are going for Florida Rs? Mario Diaz-Balart, in a seat that zero Dems thought they could flip, is down by a point with 82pct of the vote in.

CASTOR is up 6% with more than 95% of the vote in. This is a seat Republicans redrew in redistricting. It was designed for a Republican to win. JARED MOSKOWITZ, another seat drawn for Republicans, is up 8% with 82% in.
KATHY CASTOR, the Tampa-area Dem that the GOP targeted in redistricting, is up 13 points with 73% of the vote in.

Just re-upping this. Florida processes all of its pre-Election Day ballots before the polls close, and most counties will report those numbers quickly after 7. We could see 50% of the votes posted in first 15-20 minutes. Be careful to draw too many conclusions though 👇
One thing on tonight in Florida for people watching - it will look a bit like the opposite of a lot of states. Because Florida law - smartly - allows the counting of VBM and EV ballots before 7pm, the early results, if the race is competitive, will likely look pretty Democratic, and then likely get more Republican. Again for of the obsessively online people, that isn't my prediction - its just how you have to think about the early returns.

5pm update: Florida has crossed 7.7M ballots cast (final was 11M in 2024, 7.8M in 2022). Registered Ds are at 77% of their 2024 total turnout, Rs at 71%, NPA/others at 63%. Overall turnout is R+8.3 pts (2024 final was R+11.1 pts). Still modest but clear Dem enthusiasm edge.
