eat shit @LAPPL and @thrive_la
You poured millions into the most pathetic disgraceful fearmongering ads about “encampments in front of schools” and guess what? IT DIDN’T WORK because the people of this city are better than that.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the UAW. I’ll be thanking them from my FORD ESCAPE MADE IN THE LOUISVILLE PLANT BY UAW MEMBERS.
The United Auto Workers backed Abdul El-Sayed in a close Senate primary, then mobilized members across Michigan.

One thing that gets overshadowed (on here) by the Nithya/DSA drama, is that LA is a classic machine town where the party decides, and low-engagement, low-turnout elections don’t serve as much of a check on the party elite. Nithya winning is a pretty huge rebuke of that

this is why they pay centrist think tanks the big bucks, to triumphantly display a graph where two DSA members are ahead of a guy who himself is not in DSA

Big losers of the election:
The LAPD whose union spent over $7 million to help Karen Bass and can add another mayoral candidate to its growing list of endorsements that LA voters rejected.
The entirety of LA City Council, all of whom backed Bass. They now seem not only cowardly but completely out of touch with their constituents.
Billionaire Rick Caruso who lost to Bass in the last election, and to the outrage of many in the Palisades, endorsed Bass in the last days of the election.
The Fox News Post, particularly @PaigeCurrent who did everything they could to demonize Nithya.
The @GOPLosAngeles who spent over six figures sending out negative mailers dissing Nithya on behalf of Karen.
They didn't lose just because they chose the wrong person to recommend, they're losers because they proved neither their bully pulpits, alleged prestige, fear mongering, and connections did nothing to sway the will of the people.
They are losers because now it is obvious they have no influence hear in LA, even when backing an incumbent. Unless they apologize, they deserve the ridicule that should follow them going forward.

Holy shit, it's happening.
We must do everything in our power — as citizens of this country, taxpayers to its empire, and inhabitants of this planet — to prevent this psychopath from reaching the White House. Absolutely everything.

For me, most significant individual result of US congressional elections:
Uniquely, two Democratic Party candidates competed for the seat.
The Socialist Angela Gonzales-Torres soundly defeated party-backed incumbent, Gomez.
Bernie Sanders & Zohran Mamdani refused to endorse her, because of her “extreme” opposition to Israeli genocide, AIPAC and big tech oligarchy. AOC went even further. She endorsed Gomez, the AIPAC funded Democrat.

Los Angeles doesn't belong to AIPAC, Los Angeles doesn’t belong to Crypto or Big AI, Los Angeles doesn’t belong to corporate real estate developers. It belongs to us.
Workers deserve more. We deserve real representation and respect and I think it’s time that we get it. Thank you, CA-34!

LA sends a socialist to Congress! Congrats to @dsa_losangeles's Angela Gonzales-Torres on beating AIPAC & Big Tech money to represent CA34.
