From pilots to market infrastructure: tokenisation is becoming real Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Australia FIX Conference 2026 at The Fullerton Hotel Sydney today. Our Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Stonham, moderated “From Pilots to Market Infrastructure: Tokenisation Becomes Real” to a full room. The discussion was lively and well received, with the panel digging into how tokenisation is reshaping settlement and collateral management across fixed income, equities and stablecoins, and what it will take to move from proofs of concept to production at institutional scale. A big thank you to our panellists for their insights and candour: • Stu Burns, CEO & Founder, Imperium Markets • Delia Burrage, Founder, COO & General Counsel, Macropod Global • Adam Reynolds, Founder, Nexfolio • Dave Rogers, CEO Asia-Pacific, B2C2 And thanks to the FIX Trading Community for bringing the industry together for such a timely conversation. The message from the room was clear: tokenisation is no longer a question of if, but how, and the work on custody, liquidity, interoperability and regulation is well underway.

Two Bitcoin wallets remained untouched for 13 years before suddenly becoming active within seconds of each other last Saturday. The addresses, dating back to 2013, moved a combined 416.69 BTC worth approximately US$34 million (A$48.96 million) in the same block. Both wallets had remained dormant through three Bitcoin halvings, the launch of spot ETFs and multiple market cycles. Similar transaction patterns suggest the wallets may belong to the same owner, raising questions about the identity of Bitcoin's earliest holders and why they are moving their holdings after more than a decade. Bitcoin’s familiar three-letter ticker has an unexpected connection to Bhutan. Under ISO 4217, the standard behind currency codes such as AUD and USD, “BT” belongs to the Himalayan kingdom. It is also one of the few countries to have mined Bitcoin, using its abundant hydropower resources. So how did BTC become Bitcoin’s universally recognised ticker, and why does XBT still appear in parts of traditional finance? We unpack the story in this week’s VIP Desk.
