Thank God Serbia borders Europe, which is why we preserved our democracy. If we bordered Russia, we might have suffered the same fate as Belarus or Georgia. That's why I'm also sad tonight, because our Georgian and Belarusian friends continue to suffer the fate we managed to escape.

NEW: Ukrainian forces are making slow but tactically significant gains in the Oleksandrivka direction that may later threaten Russian logistics and efforts in the Oleksandrivka and Hulyaipole directions over the long term.
Other Key Takeaways:
Ukraine had a slightly lower but still relatively high interception rate of Russian jet-powered drones during the Starshield restrictions in mid-October 2026, but will need innovative jet-powered interceptors to work to sustain and improve these interception rates over the long term.
Russian forces recently advanced in the Novopavlivka direction.
Ukrainian forces conducted a series of long-range strikes against industrial facilities in Russia. Russian forces conducted several high-casualty strikes on October 24 and 25, including in western Ukraine.
Up in Smoke!
😆 Ozon and Wildberries won't be holding their usual Black Friday sales
That's because Black Friday came early in Russia — the goods went up in flames before the sales even began. So this year, many sellers have bigger problems than offering discounts.
However, the marketplaces promise that some discounts will still be available, but only on a limited range of products.

Zelenskyy: I offered the US three options if they want us to stop hitting Russian refineries:
1. Russia stops attacking our energy.
2. Open Starlink over Russian ballistic missile launch sites.
3. Give us Patriot missiles.
We got none. Instead, Starlink was restricted.

Putin is meddling in the midterms to help Trump by once again mounting a covert disinformation operation that’s spreading phony sex abuse allegations about a Democrat. Ought to be big news.

This supercut is likely to make Trump VERY upset. The difference between Trump and Obama is on full display, and the contrast is absolutely devastating. Watch until the end...

It was disappointing that @60Minutes, with all its resources and expertise, broke zero new ground on the Tina Peters story. The report was just a repetition of what local journalists reported long ago.
“Show me the evidence that the paper ballot results differed from the computerized results,” 60 Minutes’ Bill Whitaker asks Tina Peters, the former Colorado election official who served time for her role in a voting machine breach.
“My place is not to show, you know, pick out different things and what-- what could have happened,” Peters says. “I was authorized to protect the election records according to 52USC.70201.” cbsn.ws/3W6ZKFb

Finland and Austria have frozen Russian-owned assets worth approximately $500 million as part of a legal campaign by Ukraine’s state energy company Naftogaz to recover compensation for property seized by Russia in Crimea in 2014, The Wall Street Journal reports.
In April 2023, an international arbitration tribunal in The Hague ordered Russia to pay Naftogaz more than $5 billion. Moscow refused to comply, prompting the Ukrainian company to pursue Russian assets in other countries to enforce the ruling. Naftogaz says it will continue its efforts until Russia pays the compensation owed.
In Austria, 23 Russian-owned properties worth more than €120 million are subject to enforcement proceedings that could eventually lead to forced sales. The assets reportedly include houses and apartments in Vienna’s Währing, Döbling and Donaustadt districts, a former Soviet ambassador’s residence in Purkersdorf, and a villa in Salzburg.
In March 2026, Vienna’s Regional Court upheld the authorization to pursue the assets and rejected Russia’s appeal. Moscow argues that the properties are protected by state immunity and serve official government purposes. However, the court has yet to determine whether immunity applies to these specific properties.
