First major #OKX event of the year!
We recently hosted the #AlphaTradersSummit in Bali ☀️, inviting over 300 KOLs and top community leads in the region.
@okx @roschamomile @wallet @maeuknam
The recent security incidents involving Bybit, Bitget, and now Binance should serve as a wake-up call for every leader in the crypto industry.
Security should never be an area of commercial competition. It is a shared responsibility to protect our customers and the entire industry.
Over the past decade, major crypto exchanges have made significant progress in protecting private keys. We have seen relatively few incidents involving direct private key compromises in recent years. So far, we have not seen conclusive evidence that Binance’s hot wallet private key was leaked. The greater concern may lie in vulnerabilities in access controls and wallet management systems.
Companies that have never experienced a major security incident should not assume they are inherently safer or immune to attacks.
At OKX, we have built multiple layers of sophisticated security protection and maintained a strong security track record over the past decade. But we also recognize that no system is absolutely secure. We must remain humble, vigilant, and constantly challenge our own security assumptions.
A major security breach at any exchange undermines trust in the entire crypto industry, ultimately hurting every company and every customer.
I believe CEOs across the industry need to come together, just as we did during the Bitcoin fork crisis in 2017, to establish stronger industry-wide security standards and coordinated response mechanisms.
For example, transfers and settlements between verified exchanges could be processed in real time, while large withdrawals to unknown or unverified addresses, as well as transactions granting smart contract permissions, should be subject to additional verification and appropriate security delays.
Crucially, these safeguards should be enforced at the cryptographic signing layer, rather than relying solely on application-level controls. Even if an attacker compromises an exchange’s wallet management system, they should not be able to bypass these fundamental security restrictions.
We should also establish industry-wide mechanisms for real-time security incident notifications, coordinated monitoring of suspicious funds, and rapid responses to potential attacks. Exchanges, stablecoin issuers, and other major industry participants should work together to enable the rapid, lawful temporary freezing of suspected stolen assets when necessary.
We should also work together to accelerate the industry’s transition to quantum-resistant cryptography and strengthen our defenses against emerging AI-powered security threats. These are long-term challenges that no single company can solve alone, and they require coordinated research, shared standards, and collective action across the industry.
Security is everyone’s responsibility. No company can protect the future of crypto alone.

In uncertain times, trust is the most valuable asset.
Given recent and ongoing developments, people might ask: “Where is my crypto actually safe?”
It’s the right question.
Here’s my answer for OKX Europe:
Fully licensed in Europe. OKX Europe is authorised under MiCA, and also holds MiFID and Payment licences. 3 licenses, passported across the EEA, with European regulators supervising us every day.
Proof of Reserves, published monthly. We don’t ask you to trust us; we show you. Our reserves are verifiable on-chain, and you can check your own balance yourself.
Global scale, local commitment. OKX is one of the world’s largest exchanges, serving >120 million users. We’re built in Europe, for Europe, with teams, governance and decision-making here
Stable and resilient by design. Strong capital, robust infrastructure and a long-term strategy. We’ve been through multiple market cycles, and we’re here for the next ones.
Moving to MiCA-compliant stablecoins? For a limited time, convert USDT to USDC on OKX Europe and receive an 8% bonus on the converted amount. my.okx.com/en-eu/campaigns/d…
Crypto in Europe is growing up. Regulation, transparency and resilience aren’t nice-to-haves any more; they’re the baseline.
That’s the standard we hold ourselves to.
Regulation only works when the same rules apply to everyone.
If compliant companies invest heavily to obtain licenses, build local operations, and follow the rules—while others can continue operating through loopholes or exceptions—the market risks becoming a classic case of bad actors crowding out good actors.
Fair competition requires consistent enforcement.
Europe deserves one rulebook, applied equally to everyone. 🇪🇺
NEW: EU regulators are questioning Binance over its use of a legal exemption to continue serving customers in the bloc after failing to secure a MiCA license, according to the Financial Times.
Binance said it "complies with applicable regulatory requirements in the jurisdictions in which it operates" and that it is working toward becoming MiCA-authorized.

OKX as title sponsor at #Token2049 was everywhere, and it worked.
Their CMO @Haider put it well today: brand placement is an art, not a science.
Good to see a major player understand how much visibility shapes a brand. Excited for the stuff we've shot with @OKX, and more coming up!

From the OKX side, I see this a little differently.
Affiliates & KOLs are compensated well when they bring real value to OKX, but we’re definitely not just “throwing money at KOLs.” At our scale, every dollar counts and ROI matters.
At the same time, good affiliates bring much more than traffic: community, trust, market insights, product feedback, etc
It’s a two-way relationship. If they help us create more value, they should participate in that value too.
Spoke to a few newer, smaller exchanges. They all say it’s hard to survive now. Big exchanges are throwing so much money at KOLs, OKX being one example, that smaller exchanges feel like they have almost no way to compete.
But then you talk to the KOLs, and they see it completely differently. Many believe they drive a huge share of an exchange’s profits, while owning zero equity in the businesses they help build.
So somehow we’ve ended up in a market where KOLs feel underpaid, big exchanges are spending aggressively to compete for them, and smaller exchanges feel like they don’t stand a chance.
When everyone thinks they’re getting the short end of the deal, the mechanism probably isn’t working.
There must be a more efficient way to align incentives and share the value being created.
We're announcing a strategic investment from @Circle, QRT, @Ripple and SC Ventures by @StanChart at a $25 Billion pre-money valuation.
This is how we're aligning critical builders behind our vision for the next generation of onchain markets.
Thank you to the nearly 1,000 people who joined OKX Now 2026.
And apologies if we didn’t get everything perfect—we’re still learning how to make these events better every time. 😄
13 years in, and I still feel like we’re only getting started.

He made 10,000 Bitcoin outsmarting a dice game with code in 2013.
That's @star_okx , founder & CEO of @okx , in his first interview ever for the French community.
I sat down for an hour with the legend himself. He held nothing back:
→ He bought his first Bitcoin at $10 in 2011 after seeing it in a movie, and mined it on his own company's servers.
→ In 2013 he won 10,000 BTC (worth over a $1B today.) writing an algo to market-make an on-chain dice site. One bet was 500 BTC.
→ Vitalik came to him personally to list Ethereum. He said it was "a shitcoin." His biggest miss.
→ 90% of OKX's code is now written by AI. He thinks AGI is already here.
→ His advice to his younger self? Don't be the founder. "I'd rather have been a VP or a CTO."
→ He's the only crypto CEO the US prosecuted who's still standing. Every other one resigned.
Real respect to @star_okx for the time and the honesty. A real G! keep cooking, @okx is building something special. 🙏
