Most disheartening about this interview is Marissa Mayer's view that gender doesn't matter in tech and that eventually gender balance will come. She is worth $1.4B. She wants women at the table but doesn't see a role in doing anything proactive about it. nytimes.com/2026/10/25/style…

My father turned 80 this week and decided he wanted to spend it in DC… which made me a tour guide less than 2 weeks before the midterms. At least I was raised by teachers who will happily sit and read all afternoon when I apologetically tell them I need to start working.

Given the federal government’s denial that there is any pattern of immigration agents holding U.S. citizens, ProPublica did its own count. We found that 500+ Americans were detained, including at least 70 children and teens. propublica.org/article/ameri…

You will never go to discovery. Stop wasting everyone's time.
We formally put Vanity Fair and Condé Nast on notice regarding the false and defamatory allegations published about our client, Jared Kushner. Serious questions are now being raised about the credibility of this reporting, including by independent journalists. Despite repeated requests, the author has failed to produce a single bank statement, wire transfer record, account number, or other verifiable evidence supporting these extraordinary accusations. We have seen no indication that Vanity Fair conducted any independent verification of these claims before publishing them. We call on Vanity Fair to clarify publicly whether it independently verified these allegations and, if so, what evidence supports them. Or did it simply republish the author’s claims without conducting its own fact-checking? We have demanded that Vanity Fair remove the article and preserve all records relating to its reporting, fact-checking, editorial review, and publication. Letter attached. More to come.

BRENNAN: The DOJ lawsuit demands the Alaska result not be certified if voters are confused. The confusion is defined as Sen. Sullivan not winning. BLANCHE: That's not what it says BRENNAN: I'm quoting from it. You are telling them not to certify it. What right does the federal government have telling a state not to certify?

Even @Variety is trashing @billmaher — his entire show has become an image rehab program for fascists and liars. @hbomax Where would this malignant narcissist be without an audience forced to laugh and his terrible jokes? 🦗 🦗 variety.com/2026/tv/news/bil…

“Trump is installing what scholars call patrimonialism. Understanding patrimonialism is essential to defeating it. It has a fatal weakness that Democrats should make their primary and relentless line of attack.” Jonathan Rauch in The Atlantic: archive.is/6WwUg

it's amazing just how deep the loser bench of this administration goes. just losers all the way down. every idea is a loser. every single choice is a loser. can't do one thing right without fucking it all up, not even move a goddamn globe
They broke Eisenhower’s globe because they didn’t want to wait for a team of specialist historians to move it. I cannot think of a more apt metaphor for Pete Hegseth’s DoD.
