The first game a game studio makes is usually the most time-consuming, and game a studio ever makes. But it could also be the investment that makes the next 3 games possible at a fraction of the development effort. That shit can't happen if you layoff your team after a launch.

It's sad that people don't understand the difference between hand authored NPC Ai (that we've had in games for decades), and Generative Ai. This is clearly an evolution of the NPC systems GTA 5 already had: authored behaviors and reactions, but just far more advanced.
