Under The Hood no.1: Braylon Doughty - Among the more underrated T100 arms, at just 20 years old, heā€™s lived up to the reputation of being the most polished prep arm of his draft class thus far. Hereā€™s my breakdown of CLEā€™s #1 pitching prospect: prospectslive.com/under-the-ā€¦

Yandy Diaz's check swing was 22.9 MPH. It was not a swing, objectively, and would have been ruled so by ACS...

I swear that bat was still rising as it got to Mitchell. Insane exit velo + backspin combo

Find another usable OF or 1B bat that can let Adell be less relied upon against RHP. Thatā€™s what Adellā€™s value is: he hits lefties at a high level, and itā€™s the one thing that prevents the Guards from delving into an expensive market scarcity.

Man, wanna depress yourself? Take a look at potential trade or free agent targets for the Guardians who are right-handed hitters. Bleak.

Iā€™ll have a lot more to say about this in my early offseason planning piece next week, but thereā€™s ways to go about this that arenā€™t horribly expensive or require being willing to move off some prospects. Overall, thereā€™s a path forward, but running it back isnā€™t one of them.

Since they don't sign good free agents, they can't get more athletic over night. Will take years to draft and develop different types of players.

Guardians have two speed issues they need to fix: they need to get faster and more athletic across the board, and they need to find bat speed (and tap into those who do to get their best swings off).

"The way Hosey did it and the example he sets for our team was instrumental in us getting as far as we did, and I just wanted to let him know how much I and we appreciate him and all that he means to the team and the organization." #Guardians Chris Antonetti on his conversation with JosƩ Ramƭrez after Cleveland's loss in the ALCS #GuardsBall @WEWS

Stephen Vogt: "I'm coming back." Carl Willis, too. Vogt discusses the challenges of living apart from his family (who reside an hour outside of Seattle, where the Mariners are seeking a new manager), but explains why "I'll be in Cleveland": nytimes.com/athletic/7714991ā€¦

Stephen Vogt to remain with Guardians despite speculation about hometown Mariners

Vogtā€™s family lives in Olympia, Wash., but he said Thursday he is not leaving Cleveland. Pitching coach Carl Willis is also set to return.

unclear exactly what this entails at the moment, but i'm very heartened that a major american film distributor is *finally* willing to put its name on a movie that directly confronts the genocide in Gaza.
