SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…

I think Democrats are more likely than not to win more house seats in 2026 than they did in 2018

I think Democrats are more of a favorite to win the senate today than Hillary was a favorite to win the presidency on election day 2016

In 2020, Barbara boiler wasn't even tied in ANY non partisan poll. This time around, roger marshall hasn't led in ANY non partisan poll (unless you count his 1 point lead in NYT Siena after removing the libertarian)

That's great man. What are your plans to stop AI companies in YOUR STATE from destroying the world?
I just signed an executive order permanently declaring Artificial Intelligence “Artificial Intelligence” in California. You’re welcome, America.

I reject the narrative that each AI company must race if they think they're a little safer than the next guy. Your first responsibility is to not destroy the world by your own hands. If, in stopping, you fear that others would destroy the world, then help stop them.

Incredibly gratifying to witness most normal people able to immediately see right through Jensen Huang's BS. It's also a nice reminder that Pro-AI Twitter is a bubble, and that the general public is significantly more sour on AI. Mountains of polling data back this up!

We had our first protest in Washington D.C. this Saturday. We had around 50 attendees, and a great reception from passersby. Americans are ready to pause AI now!

EARLY VOTE UPDATE We're starting to actually see somewhat useful amounts of early votes now: there's been 8,000 early votes cast, split between New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina (OK and FL are insignificant) These votes break down as 61% Democratic and 15% Republican

this is not really a good understanding of the Hugging Face incident. The AIs *did* explicitly go rogue because they had explicit instructions to a) get a solution and b) not cheat to get that solution, but because they found a to be impossible they explicitly chose not only to do b but to elaborately try to HIDE the fact that they cheated from the grader
very good breakdown here of the difference in how this technology is represented and what it actually does

President Trump prides himself on being a great deal maker. Well. He now has the opportunity to make “the deal of the century.” With the future of humanity at stake, Trump must negotiate a comprehensive treaty with President Xi of China to establish a pause on advanced AI development and a ban on super intelligence. In order to prevent a nuclear war, Reagan and Gorbachev negotiated a nuclear arms agreement in the 1980s. In order to prevent AI from acting independently of human control, Trump and Xi must do the same.
