You sir are an absolute bigot, This relentless anti Irish campaign to vilify us, is becoming absolutely deplorable. The sheer arrogance of an American lecturing an entire sovereign nation for daring to criticise the Israeli government and stand up for Palestinian human rights is quite extraordinary.
And perhaps the most disgraceful aspect of your entire rant is what you conspicuously fail to mention even once, the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Not a word about the tens of thousands killed in Gaza. Not a word about the children buried beneath rubble, families destroyed, hospitals devastated, mass displacement or the catastrophic humanitarian crisis. Absolutely nothing.
Instead, you and your little groupies on here , concern is apparently Ireland’s criticism of Israel and whether our high-tech economy might suffer as a consequence. What an extraordinary set of priorities.
Let’s establish something you seem determined to ignore. Criticism of the Israeli government is not antisemitism. Supporting Palestinian human rights is not hostility towards Jewish people. Repeating that dishonest conflation doesn’t make it true.
And here’s another distinction. Unlike the United States, Ireland does not have an AIPAC-style political lobbying machine wielding enormous influence over its foreign policy. AIPAC’s political spending and influence in Washington are well documented.
Ireland is perfectly entitled to pursue an independent foreign policy without being subjected to economic scare tactics.
Ireland is a sovereign democracy, not an American subsidiary. We don’t require Washington’s approval to defend international law, condemn the killing of civilians or demand accountability from any government, including Israel’s.
And spare us the suggestion that Ireland’s humanitarian concerns constitute some irrational national obsession. The real question is why our willingness to speak about Palestinian suffering seems to offend you more than the suffering itself.
You managed to write an entire attack on Ireland without expressing a single word of compassion for Palestinian civilians.
That is perhaps the most damning indictment of your argument. Not Ireland’s supposed obsession with Israel, but your extraordinary determination to make Ireland the villain while the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza barely warrants a mention.
You sir might also want to address the uncontrollable antisemitism that’s rife across the US before doing Israel’s bidding to vilify Ireland
Ireland will not be bullied into silence. And nor should it be.

#Israel: Statement by the Spokesperson on the elections
The EU congratulates the Israeli people on yesterday’s elections, which saw a high voter turnout, reflecting Israel’s vibrant democracy.
Now begins a period of political negotiations to form the next Israeli government.

Bret Stephens has a piece out TODAY on Israel's election.

Weirdly, he didn't write a piece about Japan's election in February.
So who is the one "obsessed" with Israel?

Wow!
Canadian journalist asks Moshe Feiglin, a former Likud Member of Knesset, if he is concerned about Israel's plummeting global standing.
Feiglin's response is chilling, as it reveals the fundamental supremacist view he and many in Israel hold.
He says that the real moral supreme court is in Israel, ie with the people of Israel.
The Bible says, he explains, that those who bless Israel will be blessed, and those who curse Israel will be cursed. As a result, it's we - Israelis - who get to judge you, rather than you judging us.
And then he adds?
"Are you with the children of God or not?"

Lula calls Israel a terrorist state. If he was a British party leader, Labour would call him an antisemite and the EHRC would launch an investigation into him.
Congratulations to President @LulaOficial on your re-election - a true victory for democracy and progressive values.
I look forward continuing to work together as we create opportunities for people in the UK and Brazil.
Deranged society.
A clear majority of Jewish Israelis voted for Netanyahu’s coalition.
The man has been indicted on corruption charges in Israel and indicted for war crimes by the ICC.
His coalition has waged an assault on Israel’s legal system and he waged a genocidal war on Gaza and a quieter war on the West Bank the past three years.
Let that sink in …

Anyone else notice the anti Irish / Xenophobic campaign being run by certain English media outlets recently. Not the first time mind you but it’s definitely been ramped up since the Ireland v Israel match. The Daily Mail has always been notorious for it but few others now too..
Why are we pretending it's normal that Israel occupies a large portion of Lebanon and has leveled 48 villages?
Why are we talking about Hezbollah? The first priority should be Israeli withdrawal, accountability under international law, and rebuilding.
Today, 48 of the roughly 60 villages and towns within Israeli-occupied southern Lebanon are mostly levelled, a NYT analysis has found. nytimes.com/interactive/2026…

This is quite something ! Serbian RTV channel starts yesterday's bulletin by apologizing to viewers👇
"For years, we failed to fulfill our duty. We kept silent, turned a blind eye, reported events one-sidedly and failed to ask necessary questions. We owe our viewers an apology”

Au contraire. I think it's hilarious that idiots who normally support censorship are horrified when it happens to one of their own - this lad, Kneecap, Bob Vylan etc.
I'm against censorship but in favour of mocking morons who are too dumb to see their own hypocrisy.

It's wonderful to finally have some answers to the question - where do you want to send Irish troops that you can't because of the Triple Lock?
A made in Israel "EU military mission" engaged in civil conflict against Hezbollah.
Irish troops should be deployed to Lebanon as part of a new EU mission and be involved in both peacekeeping and peace enforcement duties, minister says rte.ie/b/1596797
