Bryan Pagliano was a State Dept employee with an unusually high 6 figure salary for an IT specialist. He was also being paid in cash on the side by the Clintons to build the personal server @HillaryClinton would use for work emails, violating her own State Dept policy. Pagliano built Hillary's homebrew server in a room once used as an office for her presidential campaign on Washington DC's K Street. He used remnants of a computer from Hillary's failed 2008 campaign to build the server.
Pagliano could have provided the House Benghazi Select Committee with valuable answers as to why Hillary didn't provide a full production of her emails related to the #Benghazi attacks, but he invoked the 5th Amendment to protect from self-incrimination. Had Pagliano testified, he could have explained why Hillary's server was reportedly down during 2 key time periods: August 2011 (during the US invasion of Libya) and October 2012 (the weeks following the #Benghazi terrorist attacks.)
The @HouseBenghazi Select Committee received 105 email exchanges from the State Dept on 6/25/15. This production is significant because it was made only after a non-government witness provided 179 additional pages of email exchanges with @HillaryClinton on 6/12/15.
59 of the emails produced by the non-government witness had never been provided by the State Dept to the committee despite the fact these emails were clearly responsive to previous requests and fully within the jurisdiction of the committee.
It is impossible to logically interpret this behavior as anything other than obstruction on the part of Hillary's State Dept. A continuation of withholding records that the Select Committee had every right to demand. This withholding of emails exposed Hillary's assurance that all public records had been returned to the State Dept as a total lie.
After the @HouseBenghazi Select Committee learned that @HillaryClinton was using non-government email addresses to send State Dept business emails, it was then discovered that she was using her own personal server for the same communications.
Using her own server for both personal and State Dept communications was significant because it gave Hillary complete control over what emails were saved and what emails were deleted, including those related to the #Benghazi terrorist attacks.
In a display of arrogance, she was also knowingly violating the explicit policy of her own State Dept that requires all agency employees to archive their work emails to comply with federal record-keeping laws.
As pressure ramped up, Hillary held a 3/10/15 press conference at UN hq where she confessed to deleting more than 30,000 emails she deemed "personal" from her tenure as secretary of state — and wouldn't allow access to the private server she used to send them. Only
Hillary's most loyal disciples have the blind trust necessary to simply accept her being the arbiter of which emails from her own server she would release to investigators, and which emails she wouldn't.
The State Dept's first production to the @HouseBenghazi Select Committee of 15,000 pages of documents contained few emails sent to or received by the State Dept’s senior staff. In fact, the production included only 8 emails sent or received by @HillaryClinton. But these 8 emails were all from two non-government addresses: “[email protected]” and “H.”
This was the first time the State Dept. produced emails from Hillary Clinton. It was also the first time the Select Committee became aware that Hillary used a private email account to conduct State Dept business during her tenure. The Select Committee was not informed at the time, or at any time until immediately before media reporting, of the extent to which Hillary Clinton relied on private email and a private server to conduct State Dept. business.
Here is a pile of "construction materials" and stone right on the side of the main thoroughfare along the Seine. Where have we seen this before?
Just exited the Louvre in Paris and ran into this "student protest" which is really a march of the Marxist Islamists. Antifa chants, bloodied up doll limbs under a Palestine flag. Totally organic and unfunded I'm sure. 😉
While the @HouseBenghazi Select Committee refused to narrow its investigation—the scope of which was mandated by the House of Representatives—the Committee did accommodate the Obama Administration’s requests to prioritize discovery requests.
Perhaps the Select Committee believed that the Obama Administration requesting a priorited list of discovery requests was a sign of good faith that they would sincerely cooperate with the investigation into the deaths of brave Americans in #Benghazi.
Instead, the accommodation resulted in the Obama Administration disregarding discovery requests that WERE NOT prioritized and then publicly accusing the Select Committee of being preoccupied with the witnesses and documents that WERE prioritized.
Replying to @jglennfl68 @HouseBenghazi
Nope the committee produced documentation of her own words confirming she knew it was a terrorist attack all along. And families of 3 of the 4 killed have recounted how she blamed it on a YouTube video afterwards. Here's the facts. You can't slime your way out of it FloridaMan. Oh and BTW we will never go away!
When the @HouseBenghazi Select Committee was formed in May 2014, it accessed approximately 50,000 pages of reports, transcripts, depositions, memoranda, classified and unclassified documents, and other info not cited or used by previous committees in their investigations. 25,000 pages (half) were so heavily redacted as to be useless to investigators. This prompted the committee to ask the State Dept to reproduce the material in less-redacted form.
@HillaryClinton and her State Dept tried repeatedly to claim transparency and cooperation with the Select Committee by quoting the number of documents she produced. An agency that compliments itself on the number of pages provided to investigators when it alone knows the number of relevant pages withheld is engaged in propaganda, not transparency.
The Supreme Court, whose job it is to interpret the Constitution, has declared “The power of the Congress to conduct investigations is inherent in the legislative process. That power is broad."
But in the case of the investigation conducted by the @HouseBenghazi Select Committee, as forthcoming posts in this timeline will show, this "broad power" of Congress was disproportionate to the power of @BarackObama's executive branch to obstruct the investigation.
If a president chooses to ignore or refuse to comply with findings from a Congressional investigation, as they are non-binding, the only remaining recourse for Congress is to impeach an executive branch official in the House and remove the individual through a Senate trial.
As a result, the committee conceded in its final report that though much of the deception and betrayal was revealed as a result of their investigation, many questions remain unanswered due to the stonewalling tactics of the Obama Administration.
On 5/8/14, the House voted 232–186 to establish the select committee, with 225 Republicans and 7 Democrats in favor, and 186 Democrats voting against. The chairman selected for the committee was Representative Trey Gowdy @TGowdySC from South Carolina. (3/4)
It was this revelation that finally pushed U.S. House Speaker John Boehner to stop resisting the calls from Frank Wolf and multiple other colleagues in Congress to organize a select committee to investigate the Obama Administration's #Benghazi cover-up. On 5/2/14, @SpeakerBoehner proposed the creation of the Select Committee on Events Surrounding the 2012 Terrorist Attack in Benghazi. (2/4)
On 4/18/14, government watchdog organization @JudicialWatch announced that it obtained 41 new #Benghazi-related State Dept documents as the result of a 6/21/13 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit. One file was the email with marching orders from @BarackObama's Deputy Strategic Comms Adviser Ben Rhodes @brhodes to @AmbassadorRice to lie on the upcoming Sunday talk shows about the #Benghazi attacks being “rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy.” (1/4)
On 9/5/14, @FoxNews aired the special report "13 Hours at Benghazi: The Inside Story" where @BretBaier interviewed 3 of the GRS team members @KTantoP, @TigTiegen and @MarkGeistSWP who saved American lives in #Benghazi and were speaking out publicly for the first time.
Tanto, Tig and Oz confirmed in the interview with Bret Baier that they were held back from leaving the #Benghazi CIA Annex to help fellow Americans at the State Dept Compound:
“You use the words ‘stand down,’” Baier noted. “A number of people now, including the House Intelligence Committee, insist no one was hindered from responding to the situation at the compound … so what do you say to that?” “No, it happened,” Tig said.
“It happened on the ground, all I can talk about is what happened on that ground that night,” added Tanto. “To us. To myself, twice, and to Tig, once. It happened that night. We were told to wait, stand, and stand down. We were delayed 3 times.”
The GRS team members also shared their firm belief that things would have been different if they had been allowed to help when ready: “Ambassador Stevens and Sean [Smith], yeah, they would still be alive, my gut is yes,” Tanto said.
Libyan al-Qaeda terrorist Faraj al-Chalabi participated in the 9/11/12 attacks on the State Dept mission compound. He then collected documents from the compound and travelled to Pakistan to deliver them to al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. At the behest of the U.S. government, Chalabi was arrested in Pakistan in September 2012, then deported to Libya where he was arrested by Libyan security authorities and taken to a Tripoli police prison.
Chalabi was released on 6/12/13 due to a "lack of evidence" meaning the FBI did not release any or enough evidence to Libyan authorities to hold him for participating in the murder of Americans. It is unclear if the U.S. even put in an official extradition request for Chalabi from Libya. Yet another example of the Obama administration failing to pursue justice for the 9/11/12 #Benghazi attacks.
