Federal extortion statutes (e.g., the Hobbs Act, 18 U.S.C. § 1951) generally require obtaining property or something of value through wrongful use of force, violence, or fear. Threatening future congressional investigations or potential referrals for political reasons is typically protected political speech or (if it occurs in the course of legislative activity) covered by Speech or Debate immunity. For an action to be extortionate, the threat must be "wrongful". Telling an individual, executive, or public official to "lawyer up" is a statement regarding the reality of facing a formal government proceeding. Because a congressional committee has a lawful right to initiate investigations, advising the target of that investigation to retain counsel is viewed as a standard—and even practical—acknowledgment of due process rather than an unlawful act of coercion or intimidation. When you have been into a courtroom and litigated a case I will listen. The bar and ball are you in your court. Bring it or sit this out in an area of law you know nothing about.

Are those polls in the room with you now? Because here’s a poll from *this week* showing 78% of Latino voters support a path to legal status (often described as amnesty). Link: 2026electionpoll.us/
Replying to @ReichlinMelnick
Yet every poll shows a majority of Hispanic Americans opposing amnesty for illegal aliens.

New numbers out this morning. The Washington Post reports 49% of eligible Americans voted on Nov 3. That's the second-highest midterm turnout since 1914, according to University of Florida Election Lab data. Read that again, conservatives. This wasn't an apathetic country. Americans came out in near-record numbers. Too many of OUR people just weren't among them. Look at Texas. Paxton ran about 1.74 million votes behind Ted Cruz's 2024 total, while Talarico beat Allred's presidential-year number by more than 400,000. In the midterm. The country didn't sit this one out. A big part of the republican base did. The Red Tide Went Out 👇 randysult.substack.com/p/the…

This is so underhanded. Mississippi inactivated voter registrations based on people having bad credit ratings. In other words, poor people. And the Republican candidate for Senate still lost.
Voter inactivations surged ahead of Tuesday’s midterm elections, the first since the MS Secretary of State’s Office authorized unverified data from the credit bureau Experian for counties to use statewide when cleaning their voter rolls. Read more: ow.ly/Xj9s5104Jif

Are you surprised Buffs fans? We are such an unserious program. Flashes without any real consistency. The issues that plague this team fall on the head coach and the lack of effort to properly prepare this team. When your first 4 drives are all 3 and outs....that's coaching. When your QB takes a 24 yard sack on 4th down….that’s coaching. When that QB has more INTs than TDs yet you ask him to throw it 31 times....that's coaching. When you are the most penalized team in the Big12….that’s coaching. When you go into half time with 2 timeouts while down 17-0….that’s coaching. When you run the same play a second time and the defense is ready for it and picks it off....that's coaching. When you don't get your first 3rd down conversion until the 3rd Quarter....that's coaching. When your only TD comes after the opponent roughs your kicker....that's coaching. I see the effort from the players. Just wish the coach and his staff matched that effort. #SkoBuffs

Jones: In my home state of Georgia, there have been 83 governors since its creation back in the 1700s. All 83 were white men until Tuesday. Prior to this Tuesday, there had only been three elected Black governors in American history in over 200 years. And in one night, five were elected.

Amazing to see this sort of stuff come out right after Republicans lose control of Texas after more than 30 years of domination. Assuming this claim is true, which is to be seen, you mean to say y'all let this happen?

It is critical that everyone understand this: the issue of highly enriched uranium is a goalpost that the neocon & Israeli lobby echo chamber will keep moving until we physically go into Iran to “take it”. The actual goal is to force a ground invasion and/or never-ending air strikes. Even when we bomb & obliterate all of Iran’s HEU, as we did w/Op midnight hammer, the lobby insists we have to go get the “nuclear dust,” creating the circumstances for more strikes and/or that prized boots-on-the-ground op. The U.S. intelligence community assessed that Iran was not developing a nuclear weapon. The entire premise of chasing “nuclear dust” was—and remains—bait to draw us into Israel’s war.
Fuck, we have a new problem. The Neocons have a new pitch to Trump: 'The only way to fix the damage the Iran war has done to your legacy is to force them to give up their highly enriched uranium.' They're spamming him with this stupid new idea, undermining Vance's efforts to reach a diplomatic solution What they leave out of their pitch is that Iran will NEVER give up their uranium to Trump, as it's their only bargaining chip, and giving it up is an irreversible step, while Trump's conscessions (lifting the blockade and sanctions) are easily reversible And needless to say, the Iranians do not trust Trump, or the U.S.

Imagine getting your mom to post to defend you
Ok, please, everybody needs to calm down. She is saying that the data supports the results. That's it. I have permission from her to make this post because she is frustrated that "people are retarded." I told you that she doesn't verify and audit the votes. She gets the data and analyzes it. The way it turned out is the way she thought it would turn out based on the data. It does look like fraud, but now someone else needs to step up and figure out the how. And maybe it's been going on since 2020? Remember how many people voted for Biden? That was a joke! Unfortunately, the elections in our country are based on an honor system, and the states are in charge. 1) She attempted to warn everyone early on. People got mad. 2) She pulled back, and people got mad that she pulled back. 3) Now she is telling what the data said, and everyone is mad again. She is the messenger, not the creator! It looks like fraud, but now someone needs to step up and prove it. I told you she is not clairvoyant. She is a data engineer. She has about 20 patents and not one of them is for telling the future or revealing fraud. Now, please be kind. This is hard!!

This isn’t a “gotcha” or trying to score political points — I’m genuinely shocked by the number of people who think God is male too.
I'm amazed at the # of Christians who believe, since God took on the human form of a biological male, we can conclude that God the Father is eternally male. Also amazed at the anger generated by pointing out this is not historic Christian teaching.

It’s a conspiracy theory when you point out a handful of billionaires are working to push the democratic party right so as to align with their economic and ideological interests
We are leaving conspiratorial nonsense aimed at generating clicks and subscriptions in the past. What we are doing is building off the massive wave and creating a real, durable majority in both the House and Senate that's going to do a lot of good for a lot of people. Sorry but this stuff does not fly anymore.
