Last night we saw the success of a band of brothers who worked so hard for each other, a team that is ❤️ Diverse (it was adequate that Lamine and Nico linked up for the first goal, they have been involved in 10 of the 15 we scored, and also that Catalan Cucurella and Basque Oyarzabal linked up for the second; players come from all parts of Spain and different clubs, not just Real Madrid and Barcelona) 💛 Versatile (Lamine and Nico played very wide but as they couldn't beat the full backs, they came inside or even sometimes joined forces in the same wing) ❤️ A team that adapts to what the game required (England played better the first half as they were closer to what they wanted than we were, but we improved) 💛 With mental strength (Rodri's injury was a bit blow, same as conceding the 1-1, but we went for more before extra time, and we did it in a stadium that seemed Wembley, we were outnumbered 5-1) ❤️ That has connected with the country (the young 15-20s have been glued to the TV) 💛 With a captain (Morata) full of emotional leadership, who run a huge amount and with plenty of sensitivity (after the game he thanked Bojan and Iniesta for looking after him, two players that, like him, have suffered from depression) ❤️ And a manager that clearly has created an atmosphere of creativity and bravery that players love, and helps them be the best they can be On this occasion the football gods were fair to the team that brought fun and admiration, and on the biggest of stages, where the winner tends to be imitated, it is better that a team that has elevated the level of international football gets rewarded It is possible (and more enjoyable) to win trying to conquer, more than trying not to lose
