Sorry for another smug middle aged #topical post, but ...

In later years my dad started to eat gherkins by the score. Big jars full of bits of pepper, seeds and fronds of herb. They looked very Undersea World Of Jacques Cousteau. Probably felt nostalgia for his East European roots.

Harry Kane's memoir is going to be rush released in time for Christmas. It's called The Moon's A Ballon d'Or.
We all need to make a stand. I took a shine to some yellow and brown t-bar platforms in the window of Dolcis but was barred from entering the shop by a surly teenage assistant because I was wearing a poppy! I will never darken their door again.
UPDATED: This is the list of confirmed UK retailers who will currently not allow you to enter their premises if you’re wearing a poppy. Please reconsider and take your business elsewhere!

Except he didn't ban people for wearing poppies.
This is a narrtive being perpetuated by the right during #PoppyRage season to try and disguise the fact that, while you bleat "Lest we forget" once a year, your support for fascists demonstrates you have very much forgotten.
#LestWeForget
The lad who manages that Weatherspoon pub “The Star” in Gosport, and who banned people wearing poppies is sadly typical of so many others. The product of woke politicians, media, police and teachers who have indoctrinated him and so many others to lose sight of the fact that some things are above politics, contribute to who we are, represent our values, and must be protected.
They have been taught that those who choose to take offence at things like the poppy have a right to be offended, and that the rest of us who say “Tough, it’s ours, it is important and we will never give in are the problem. No. We are not.
The poppy is not political. The poppy is a unifying symbol of national Remembrance and if you don’t like it, damn well lump it. You are not a part of this, my nation. 🇬🇧🌺

I'm absolutely FURIOUS now that I've found out that John Healey - the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer - is the son of Dennis Healey who used to be the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer! The ultimate nepo baby! How blatant can you get 😤
Deleted an earlier post where I accused Mercury Prize acts of using shredding guitar to get the Newcastle Kenco Latte Sachets Arena rocking. Went back to check and they were just LOUD with little guitar embellishment. I was drunk and made a mistake. Profuse apologies.

With a little bit of luck they'll make it through Bonfire Night ...
