The updated LinkedIn posting removed the phrase saying that the next generation is even bigger than Block 2. I’m curious what that was removed. Any ideas?

$ASTS Any guesses? Are BlueBird satellites being designed to perform AI inference or other computational workloads in orbit, or does AST's AI strategy primarily involve optimizing its communications network and transporting data for AI applications?

JUST IN: SpaceX’s Transporter-18 mission quietly put several of the core technologies needed for orbital AI data centers into space at the same time.
The mission carried three separate experiments targeting the biggest bottlenecks:
1) $GOOGL Google’s Project Suncatcher is testing four custom TPUs in orbit to see how AI hardware handles radiation, heat and spaceflight.
2) Star Catcher’s Protostar (pictured) will attempt to wirelessly beam power between two free-flying spacecraft, potentially allowing future satellites to buy electricity in orbit instead of carrying all of their own generation capacity.
3) Cowboy Space’s Reason-1 will attempt to beam solar energy from orbit back to Earth using an infrared laser, technology the company also plans to use for high-speed links between future orbital data centers.
All three launched yesterday aboard $SPCX SpaceX’s Transporter-18 rideshare.
The orbital data center race is accelerating as companies test the power and connectivity needed to make large-scale computing in space viable.

$ASTS: 🚨ABEL AVELLAN MET WITH FCC CHAIR BRENDAN CARR TO DISCUSS OPENING ADDITIONAL SPECTRUM FOR DIRECT-TO-DEVICE
AST told the FCC it supports making unlicensed spectrum — including lower 6 GHz — available for D2D, and, “working with its partners,” supports the auction of 1675–1695 MHz.
➡️AST already has access through Ligado to 1670–1675 MHz, immediately adjacent to the proposed 1675–1695 MHz block
➡️My speculation: the referenced “partners” could include AST’s U.S. carrier ecosystem — AT&T, Verizon and potentially T-Mobile / the developing JV structure
➡️Add Ligado L-band + potentially 1675–1695 MHz + Grain’s 800 MHz spectrum, which AST is already testing, and you can begin to see the outlines of an additional purpose-built "third spectrum layer" sitting alongside the MNO’s existing terrestrial networks
Congratulations to the entire AST SpaceMobile team. 🚀👏

$ASTS Satellite count alone is a misleading comparison. One AST Block-2 has roughly 36× the communications array area of a Starlink D2D satellite and could deliver 20–40× more direct-to-device radio capacity. Different architectures, very different capabilities.
$ASTS: Total Comms Array Size of Constellation vs AST Block-2 Satellite
Globalstar 25 sats ~400 sqft

Starlink DtC 650 sats is 43,450 sqft
= 18x Block-2 BlueBird sats
🚀 Orbital data centers are no longer science fiction.
Blue Origin is arguing that space-based compute could benefit from:
• Constant solar power ☀️
• Passive cooling ❄️
• Independence from terrestrial infrastructure 🌎
The next decade in space is going to be wild.
🚨🚨 Blue Origin - FCC Docket SAT-LOA-20260310-00118
Blue Origin, LLC submits a consolidated opposition and response to comments filed against its application for authority to launch and operate its Project Sunrise orbital data center system. Blue Origin argues that the opposing comments mischaracterize the regulatory framework, raise issues outside the FCC's jurisdiction, or rely on speculative assertions. They request the FCC to grant their application, highlighting the benefits of orbital data centers, including constant solar power, passive radiative cooling, and independence from terrestrial resources. Blue Origin contends that the FCC possesses sufficient authority to grant the application and that requested waivers are consistent with precedent. They commit to mitigating impacts to optical astronomy and compliance with existing rules. They state the public interest favors the application, as it advances American leadership in space and AI.

One of you DMed me asking: if $ASTS is such a generational wealth stock, why are bears shorting it to the highest levels?
Great question. Let me clarify how I think about this.
Imagine a skyscraper being built in Manhattan.
Foundation is poured. Steel is going up. 60 tenants have signed leases. Grand opening is scheduled for June.
A bear walks by, sees no tenants inside, and says: "This building has no rental income. It's worthless. I'm betting it fails."
That's what's happening with $ASTS right now.
Bears see $14.7M in quarterly revenue on a $27B company and short it. They're pricing a construction site like a finished building.
Meanwhile: 33 satellites in production. 60 carriers signed. $75-100M in contracted backlog. Launch in June. FCC approved. 98.9 Mbps proven.
The building isn't empty. It's just not finished yet. Get it?
Now -- about that short volume chart.
First thing to understand: short VOLUME ≠ short INTEREST.
Short volume is daily flow. Short interest is total position. Big difference.
Think of it like a grocery store. Short volume is how many people walked through the door today. Short interest is how many people are still standing inside.
A huge chunk of daily short volume is market makers. When you hit "buy," a market maker sells short to fill your order, then covers seconds later.
They're the cashier making change -- the money comes right back. It looks like selling. It's actually them helping YOU buy.
But the real short adding IS happening.
Here's why:
Reason 1: Revenue miss gave them confidence. $14.7M vs $36.6M expected. They see "miss by 60%" and double down. They didn't read the business update.
Reason 2: Convertible bond hedging. Funds buy $ASTS convertible bonds and automatically short the stock as a math hedge. Not a bet against ASTS. These shorts won't cover for years regardless of news.
Reason 3: They think the valuation is unsustainable. $27B market cap on $14.7M revenue. Some shorts only see that ratio.
What they're missing:
The building took a bad inspection report and held its value. Stock didn't crash to $50 on a 60% miss. It held $70+. That means buyers are absorbing every share shorts are selling.
Guidance reaffirmed: $150-200M. Half already under contract. 45 satellites targeted. Three new government contracts. Mid-June launch on Falcon 9.
Why this pattern matters:
Shorts are always most aggressive right before they're wrong.
Tesla 2019: bears shorted it every day while the China factory was being built. "No profit, overvalued." They kept adding.
Then it went from $40 to $400 in 12 months.
They were shorting the construction site. The building opened anyway.
