In the words of Michael Frayn. It's not the despair. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand...

What a win that is for Newcastle.
So much to deal with.
Endless travelling.
Appalling officials.
Trailing.
Fight their way back for a memorable victory.
Now on to Azerbaijan…
That is such a bad decision by a professional official. 3 players offside in a static situation...
And the commentators spend 10 minutes talking about a clever free kick. Surprised the ref found his balls for long enough to give the red card...#nufc

🚨 LAST CHANCE to fill in the survey about the atmosphere at St James’ Park. We have over 4000 responses, which is superb, but want to hear from as many of you as possible, especially Season Ticket holders.
The results will be shared with the club this week.

Always likely to be a bridge too far. Grit and guts needed on and off the pitch now. Might be ower much to expect that from twitter mind...#NUFC

One time I accidentally ran over the guy from Chumbawumba but luckily he was fine.
GNR day. Preparation sub optimal which probably takes the win out of play so to try and do something useful...

I find it remarkable that Newcastle fans have been watching Pope every week for three years and so many appear to be of the belief he isn’t brilliant at coming off his line. He does it multiple times in every game and has made two mistakes in that time – one of them in a friendly

The greatest season the vast majority have ever witnessed, we’ve loved every moment.
We always hope the displays give just that little bit extra to the lads on the pitch, and we are so grateful to our fan base who help make this happen.
2024/25, thanks for the memories. We can’t wait to go again.

What a week for Hexham Leazes.
I'm nearly not angry that I spent 20 overs padded up to not get a bat on Thursday.

An EFL rule change brought in this season was designed to protect the European clubs by effectively giving them an 'easy' route through to the last-16.
Fitting that Newcastle gave the middle finger to those rules - beating three European sides on their way to lifting the cup.
It's funny it's been nearly 30 years now and Brimful on Asha by Cornershop has never lost it's power...to make me turn the radio over...#notthisshiteagain

A lot of negativity but Miggy Almiron once scored past Roberto Sanchez away at Rochdale. #NUFC
Positive omen? No. ❌
Chance to remember Robbie Savage being called a wanker? Yes. ✅

One of my biggest pet hates about football these days is the notion that nobody can celebrate anything for fear that they might not win promotion or win a trophy. Let fans live in the moment, otherwise there’s no point in turning up to games until the end of the season.
Congratulations to @YorkCityFC who have just been promoted to the @EFL That’s some achievement in October #NonLeague #ycfc
