If, by the way, the same situation that just happened in Brazil had happened but with the parties switched -- if Bolsonaro had won last night's election and then a pro-Bolsonaro judge sent the Federal Police to seize Lula's passport and bar him from leaving the country -- every major western media outlet and liberal NGOs would be screaming about the authoritarian attack on Brazil's elections and the destruction of basic freedoms.
>be Lula
>get convicted of corruption
>get sentenced to 12 years
>get released by the STF on procedural errors
>never actually acquitted lmao
>beat Jair Bolsonaro in 2022
>Jair gets thrown into jail over an alleged coup attempt
>Congress votes to cut his sentence
>Lula vetoes it
>four years later, face his son
>during a debate, threaten to also lock him up if he loses the election
>election day
>former private lawyer, now STF judge, extends voting by 2 hours nationwide
>request came from Lula's own coalition
>win by 4 million votes in a runoff with no paper trail
>next day, Moraes orders the losing candidate to surrender his passports
>victory speech: "we're going to regulate social media"
>"democracy" lmao
>RIP Brazil

Round 1:
🏆Bolsonaro: 56.1 million votes
Lula: 53.9 million votes
Round 2:
🏆Lula: 64.1 million votes (+10.2M)
Bolsonaro: 59.8 million votes (+3.7M)
To give you an idea of how unlikely this is: all the eliminated candidates from round 1 got 9.33M VOTES COMBINED

they’ll never learn how to earn it. And because they didn’t earn it they probably aren’t equipped to take care of it or keep it.

People don't understand how deeply a single subconscious belief can control their entire life. A man can have a successful business, a family, and everything looking perfect on paper while fighting an invisible war within himself. His income hits a ceiling. His relationships follow the same patterns. His confidence disappears in situations where he needs it most. He tries affirmations, inner work, healing, and every method he can find, yet nothing seems to change. he keeps treating the effects without ever identifying the cause. I once worked with a man who had struggled with blushing for over 15 years. he believed his presence repelled people. that single belief influenced how he saw himself, how he approached conversations, and how he interpreted other people's reactions. We identified the belief, worked on changing his self-image, and reframed the very thing he had spent years resisting. instead of fearing the blush, he began telling himself that the more he blushed, the more confident he became. He stopped treating his reaction as proof that something was wrong with him. Most people spend their entire lives fighting symptoms without questioning the beliefs underneath them. few people truly understand how much their self-image shapes their behavior. Your mind is the cause. Your life is the effect.

If your goal is communism in America- brother we are already there
The USA spends more on public programs (health care, social security, SNAP) as a % of GDP than Communist China.
We will spend 38% this year.
The same as Venezuela under Chavez.
We are already spending like communist in America.
David Friedberg reveals France's public spending is 57% of GDP: greater than that of communist countries
"This chart is a measure of public spending as a percent of GDP; Rand Group Research published it. And you can see the comparison of France's public spending as a percent of GDP, to the peak public spending as a percent of GDP of major communist nations, Soviet Union during, communist Romania, Venezuela under Chavez, and then communist China."
"It certainly been a socialist state, right? That's my point. I think this is such a precious lesson for the West to look at. We all think that there's some political problem with Macron or whoever it was."
"The more the government spends, the worse the conditions get for its people, not the opposite. And then the people riot and revolt and say that the government's not spending enough and the government needs to be doing more."
"Take a guess where the US is today. Federal government spending is $7.4 trillion, state and local government spending is $4.6 trillion. You add those two together, it's $12 trillion out of a $33 trillion GDP. US public spending is roughly 36% of GDP. France today is the same as the US, it's about 120% debt to GDP."
"France today is operating its national government spending deficit is 5.4% of GDP. The US is actually 6.2% of GDP. France is I think probably the first to go because they're only growing their economy at half a percent while the US is growing 2.3%."
"So we're still kind of hanging on because we have some degree of economic growth that's allowing us to kind of hold things together."
"But I would argue that we are facing the same sort of fiscal cliff that leads to this extraordinary social unrest as France, all the economic measures are aligned, we're at the same rate, we're at the same set of problems."

Highly recommend watching Kai’s takes here.
He made one point that I think is especially important, and it’s something I’ve encountered repeatedly in debates: far too many people genuinely do not know how to engage with hypotheticals or analogies.
Basic logic and critical reasoning seem to be lost arts. Understanding logical chains, distinguishing correlation from causation, and following an argument to its logical conclusion are skills that seem increasingly underdeveloped or nonexistent, even among people pursuing “higher education” on these campuses.
Frankly, if someone cannot engage with the simplest of thought experiments, it raises serious questions about their ability to reason critically. I don’t say that to be cruel, but intellectual limitations become a much bigger problem when those same people are confidently shaping political narratives and dominating public discourse.

Most people who dream of a quiet life without work are just exhausted from work they hate. The reason you get bored on vacation after a week is that you are meant to move, pursue something exciting, and engage your body and mind in something useful. Do whatever it takes to find work that energizes you. It may take years, but it will have the most meaningful effect on your quality of life.
