This man was convicted of sodomy not once but twice.
And today he’s the prime minister of Malaysia.
Never give up.
You’ve got to know who you are not as an entrepreneur.
I am not a rizzler.
I have raised $0 in my life and I’ve tried.
If you’re a rizzler, rizz for cash, but for me, I was always better off finding capital through creativity.
If you’ve got a good idea, it’ll find money fast.

When I spoke with a $180M founder, he literally told me he spoke, met, and searched for people who can help him EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Responded to all junk mails, spam emails, rumors, etc.
I'm doing exactly that right now... and I think it may actually be true.
Does this make sense??
Please help me. I want to learn. 😊
Yes, we are between new world orders.
What will happen?
There’s probably going to be an ever growing war (we have that) along with multiple currency collapses (this is guaranteed at this point).

If I may make an assertion.
What we’re seeing is the ecosystem responding to the collapse of the 1945-2022 world order.
It might be bad enough that we see the nation state itself fail, but I can’t see that far at this point.
Certainly the idea of “universal suffrage” is finished. And from that what happens?
How to make friends with the rich, powerful, famous, etc:
1. Never ask them for the thing that makes them exceptional. If they’re rich don’t ask for money. If they’re famous don’t ask for an instagram post. And if they’re powerful, don’t ask for a favor.
2. Bring something to the table that they don’t have. One time I was having dinner with a billionaire at a restaurant in NYC and all of a sudden he lowered his head and said in a whisper “that’s [famous sportscaster]”. In my head, I was like “man I cannot believe you care about that.” The point is that billionaires can be in awe of fame and the famous can be in awe of billionaires. So if you want to be cool with someone, you need to bring something big and exceptional to the table.
3. Do stuff for these people and don’t ask for anything in return. Give 10% more than you get. It works in business and it works here. It earns people trust and does not cost you much.
4. Be young and sexy. Duh. This has always worked for me.
5. Shoot your shot. You’ll never meet one of these people if you stay in your room all day and doomscroll. Put yourself out there. Go to networking events. Make a profile on social media. Give a presentation. And when your opportunity comes, make your ask.
6. Go to school with their kids. This is the best way to form natural friendships, based on vetted proximity.
Whether you’re just getting started or have already done a lot, I’m sure there’s some type of person you’d love to meet.
I hope this helps you achieve that, but remember, as Charlie Munger* always used to say:
“The best way to get something is to deserve it.”
It do be like that sometimes tho

I really wish I could edit this to add one more point.
When you meet one of these people, you need to be MEMORABLE.
One time I had dinner with this very famous venture capitalist.
It was me and 7 other people who superficially were like me.
For whatever reason, these other people all acted pretty bland or even milquetoast, despite being successful in their own right (we all paid $5000 and flew somewhere to meet this guy).
I did not take that path. I went full on "different-mode".
No one makes friends with someone boring.
You need to run the risk of being unlikable to be liked.

*I once went to Charlie Munger’s house and asked if I could talk to him and his house assistant was like “he says no”.
Amusing to me that the generation most afraid of phone calls continuously has airpods in their ears.
There needs to be a different button for "show me more posts like this" and "I like this post" @elonmusk
It is frustrating that I have to hit ❤️ on content that I find completely wrong or stupid because I want to see more of the topic.
Also, sometimes I want to like posts eg friends' but don't want to see more of them.
If you have kids and $34, buying my company’s product is a no brainer.
You will get peace and quiet while your kids build their engineering skills and creativity without screens.
There are hours of paper instructions to help you build.
And now wheels!

My daughter‘s latest Brain Flakes creation. If you listen closely, you might catch a little cover while she was filming. Name that tune? @Molson_Hart
Saw someone carrying @sweatystartup’s book in a mall in Asia (!) which I found impressive.
Every now and again one of my friends tells me that someone they know is trying to buy a business (usually home services).
It is almost certainly a horrible idea and that will end up in personal bankruptcy.
Going from the corporate world or finance to the real world is like transitioning from being a man to a woman or moving to a country where you don't speak the language.
It is way more different than you can even imagine.
It will be very very very hard.
You're going to have to personally guarantee the loan to buy the business and if you fail (highly likely) your career if not your life will be ruined.
Buyer beware.

Work really hard to make yourself a good person (no lying, theft, unnecessary violence), which takes willpower and then practice, and once you are confident you have achieved that, stop caring about what people think.
Sometimes you will need to be pragmatic about that as false rumors can slow you down and improving your reputation can speed you up, but generally, you can simply shoot the albatross of others’ opinions that has followed you all your life up until this point, again, upon having become a truly good person.
I’m not saying this is necessarily bad in any way, but 2024 Trump is a movement in the direction of fascism.
The so-called “TDS” aka Trump Derangement Syndrome people were in this way directionally correct.
The features of fascism as defined by Grok:
1. Ultranationalism and the primacy of the nation (emphasis on rebirth, my add not Grok’s)
2. Authoritarian dictatorship and rejection of liberal democracy
3. Corporatism (state-directed economy with private property)
4. Militarism, expansionism, and glorification of violence
5. Totalitarian aspirations
6. Anti-liberalism, anti-communism, and hierarchical social order
PS I am not paid by anybody, directly or indirectly, to write here and never have been. You might be surprised to learn that a lot of accounts on here are, however.
Slovenian Marxist philosopher Slavoj Žižek argues that humanity faces three major crises: environmental collapse, artificial intelligence, and the threat of global war. He says existing political and economic systems lack the mechanisms to confront them.
Invoking Antonio Gramsci, Žižek describes a “morbid” interregnum in which the old liberal world order is dying but the new cannot be born, leading to a "universalized morbidity" that is darker than traditional capitalism, bordering on a form of digital feudalism, as described by Yanis Varoufakis.
He says Donald Trump is a symptom of the American state’s failures and criticizes the Left for prioritizing political correctness and opposition to Trump over developing a concrete vision rooted in social solidarity and morality.
Žižek raises the possibility that confronting these crises may require a form of “leftist authoritarianism” or emergency state intervention to implement the necessary and bitter measures to survive upcoming catastrophes.

It’s real.
The massive bridge built 12 years ago between North Korea and China is finally open.
North Korea is now open for business.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made a surprise visit to Dandong, China, crossing the border via the newly opened New Yalu River Bridge.
Chinese state media said Wang Huning, China’s fourth-ranked leader, accompanied Kim and conveyed greetings from President Xi Jinping.
The four-lane bridge linking Sinuiju and Dandong was completed in 2014 with Chinese funding but sat unused for 12 years before officially opening on October 15 amid warming ties.
