Bitget’s security systems identified unauthorized transfers involving approximately $351.6 million in assets
Following another major security incident at Bitget we are observing Bitget Exploiter funds being sent to THORChain for asset swaps and cross-chain transfers.
THORChain is decentralized and permissionless like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and BNB Chain
During THORChain’s May 2026 exploit, the attackers addresses were never blacklisted and therefore never prevented from swapping on THORChain. THORChain is permissionless and doesn't censor by design.

THORChain's nodes are getting ready for the $ZEC integration.
Every THORChain node runs its own Zcash full node. They can now start scanning the @Zcash blockchain, ahead of the next churn, and report what they see to the network.
Scanning comes first to make sure each node is ready. Once the scanners are healthy, $ZEC can be switched on at churn.

2017: Barry Silbert and Digital Currency Group brought together the largest Bitcoin companies for the New York Agreement.
2026: Michael Saylor and Strategy have brought together many of the largest financial institutions and Bitcoin companies in the Bitcoin Security Consortium—BlackRock, Fidelity, Coinbase, Galaxy, Anchorage, ARK, Block, and even Blockstream.
Interesting how Blockstream opposed the New York Agreement but is now part of this consortium.
Different initiative.
Same lesson.
Bitcoin doesn’t belong to corporate consortiums.
Consensus belongs to the people running nodes and holding their own keys.
Self-custody remains Bitcoin’s greatest defence.
