The only thing I dislike about getting older is the fact that
You get to hear more people die
Some people you knew who were in their 40s who were cool to you in your late teens begin to die
You begin to contribute for burials
You begin to send condolences
You see someone today, tomorrow they're gone and you're shocked for 1 minute because capitalism can't give you time to grieve
An old classmate calls you out of the blue, you start to pray it's not bad news about someone you know.
You lose contact with someone for 10 years and when the urge to ask about them hits you, you start praying they are alive.
Grief and the reality of losing people takes a toll on us more than we think.
God Save Us All and Show Mercy.

My hands are itching me, I want to work on a brand identity design so bad, but I don’t want to waste the muse I have right now on something that won’t be used by an actual brand or business.
Small business owners or startups, emphasis on small, hit me up, I’m willing to work on a brand identity design for one brand who needs it.
FOR FREE !!

Why serving soldiers can’t become Field Marshal in the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Look at these photos well. These are not a serving soldiers.
That is the President, as Commander in Chief, wearing the uniform of the highest rank in the land. From President Shehu Shagari, Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan and President Muhammadu Buhari.
And that is the whole story.
No serving Nigerian soldier has ever become a Field Marshal.
Not one.
Not in the Army, not in the Navy, not in the Air Force.
It has never happened.
Our military started as a colonial force. First it was the West African Frontier Force, then the Royal West African Frontier Force. Nigerians were soldiers, but the top officers were British. The British did not make Nigerian Field Marshals.
In 1960 we got independence, and in 1963 we became a Republic. The Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force were born. Our officers rose fast. We had Generals, Admirals, Air Marshals. But we stopped at four stars.
Why? Because Field Marshal is a five star rank. In the British tradition we inherited, it is not given for doing your job well. It is given for commanding a whole war, or as a rare honour to a king or a victorious commander.
Nigeria never fought that kind of war. Our biggest war was the Civil War, and even then the men in charge stayed at General.
And Nigeria made a quiet decision: keep the military under the civilian. Do not create a soldier who is above every other soldier.
So who wears the five stars?
Only the President.
By precedent, when the President appears as Commander in Chief at a big parade, he is allowed to wear the ceremonial uniform of a Field Marshal for the Army, Admiral of the Fleet for the Navy, and Marshal of the Air Force for the Air Force.
Look again at the photos. The gold sash, the crossed batons on the shoulder, the red carpet, the salute.
That is ceremony, not promotion.
In the first photo you see the blue Air Force ceremonial dress. In the second, the camouflage of the Army. In the third and fourth, the white Navy dress.
That is why Gowon stopped at General. Murtala stopped at General, Obasanjo stopped at General. Babangida stopped at General. Abacha stopped at General.
Buhari, a retired Major General, only wore the Field Marshal uniform when he was President and Commander in Chief.
So the rule is simple. A soldier can climb to General, Admiral, or Air Marshal. He cannot climb to Field Marshal. That top uniform belongs to only one man, the President, and only when he stands before the troops as their Commander in Chief.
Akwa Ibom ayaya tutu.
From Uyo where I arrived this morning, jI am watching live coverage of the Delta State Governor campaigning at a reception by Isoko people. Nothing showcases the value of comparative development and politics better than the contrast between where I am and where I am watching, which happens to be my home state, Delta state. All the Isoko people need to do is fill a few buses with their youth and have them tour Akwa Ibom for one day. I can assure you they will chase out those who govern Delta. The current Governor of Delta state succeeded a man who was hailed ‘Road Master’ but left with hardly any road being motors Le in the state. Education is so poor in Delta the youth have taken to drugs and selling people’s land. Try coming to my house less than 10 minutes from the Asaba Airport, For the last three Christmases those who dwell there have levied themselves to pour laterite on the road to enable cars reach there. Today the incumbent was hailed the great developer as Okowa was hailed Road Master.
Backwardness has to be a mental health problem. As an elite the Nigerian middle class need an investigation of sycophancy and how men become slaves and live the Stockholm syndrome celebrating those who abuse them

Nigeria remains the most successful black nation on earth
Nigeria is still the place you will find the most cluster of successful black people who are not leeches off white wealth

I stared at the image I got from @iyiola_toheeb07 a couple of days ago for hours on what to design with it, and the image just stared at me with the question; What are you designing today?

A baboon weighs about as much as a fourth grader, and a troop of them once made a leopard lie in the grass and play dead for two and a half hours.
Back in 2006 in Botswana, a leopard snuck up on a troop of about 30 and killed a young one at the back. The rest of the troop came for her. She dropped and didn't move while the big males kept at her, and the safari guide watching said she seemed to know that if she fought back, they'd kill her.
And that's the animal a lot of guys figure they'd beat because it's half their size.
Male chacma baboons, the big South African kind, average around 70 pounds and grow canines about an inch and a half long. They mostly eat grass and roots, so those fangs get used on other baboons. A Duke-led study of 80 wild males in Kenya found that among the top males, the ones with longer canines tended to hold higher rank.
The same study turned up something kind of unsettling. Males who ate out of a tourist lodge's garbage pit grew their full-size canines earlier than males living on wild food.
Our trash gets them their weapons faster.
Leopards are the main thing that hunts adult baboons, and even in places packed with baboons, they rarely make up more than 5% of what a leopard eats. Researchers chalk that up to how aggressive and watchful a troop gets once one of them is attacked.
So yeah, you probably outweigh him by 100-plus pounds. That only helps you if he shows up alone and never bites.
Ridley Scott saw this firsthand. He was in South Africa shooting the Raised by Wolves pilot when a troop sat on a parking lot wall staring at tourists. Some big guy walked over to pet one, and it went right at him. Dude dropped his coffee and got clawed trying to get back in his car. Ridley's take was that you'd already lose a wrestling match to a 20-pound Jack Russell, and with a baboon "you'll lose your arm and your head."
So for Gladiator II he hired 12 really small stuntmen, put them in black tights with little whiskers, and had them actually brawl with the actors. Then the VFX team erased them and built baboons over their movements.
The hairless one in this clip has alopecia. Ridley copied that from the baboon in the parking lot, and the effects team tracked real footage of a baboon with the condition so its walk would match.
So the one that looks the most fake is the one he copied off a real animal.

Im in Aerospace, just my perspective.. about todays plane crash in Florida.
Icing and moderate turbulence lead to a phenomenon called Mach tuck. It is common in Learjet 60’s and older Learjet’s. Essentially, you exceed the maximum airspeed at altitude and it is unrecoverable to the point that you continue to speed up while not being able to produce lift with your wings.
Further description: your coefficient of lift eventually moves too far behind the wing making it impossible to produce lift, this causes the aircraft to lose altitude like a falling dart, in turn gaining airspeed and crashing.
All Pilots are aware of this, some just push too close to the maximum speed threshold, and when you experience clear air turbulence or other factors like icing that would push you too far past the maximum speed threshold without the capability to control the wing normally, this happens.
Long story short...icing changes the shape of the wing critically and adds weight to plane (double whammy, but mainly airflow issue over the wing), Learjets are vulnerable to over speed situations because of the type of wing is small, sleek, and unforgiving in the name of efficiency and performance, mix all of that together with moderate turbulence which can fluctuate your airspeed, this causes the aircraft to enter Mach tuck over speed condition. The result is a lawn dart scenario that you see here. Very sad.
