I think it’s a disgrace that last night UNDOCUMENTED foreign nationals were allowed into Gosport and given police protection and escort YET at the very same time the police were checking the ID of local residents to let them go down their own roads to go home. Does nobody see how absolutely bonkers that is?! Last night you had more rights and less checks if you arrived in Gosport illegally via a boat than if you lived in town itself. Someone make it make sense.

The Labour Government today openly facilitated the human trafficking of more people into Britain from France. We're reaching the point where entire towns are being subjected to restrictions to prevent mass protests against illegal migrant arrivals. And the police officers actively facilitating this operation need to seriously question the role they're playing. The British public are being treated like the problem, rather than the criminal trafficking networks bringing people into our country. Absolutely disgraceful.
🚨We are now in a place where a whole town gets locked down by the Government for a boat that has not arrived…. Gosport. Haslar Bridge shut. Coaches at Fort Blockhouse. Masks banned. A dispersal order on the entire town until 7am Tuesday. Anyone who wants to stand there is sent to a car park. If not you’re threatened with arrest.. The boat is still in French waters. The government will not even say this is the landing. Last time, they took the people to Dover.

My shame of the week award goes to Zack Polanski. Not for being the Green Party’s Jewish leader who has embraced the most extreme anti-Israel politics in British public life, and helped stir the antisemitism now running through the country. That was already shameful enough. This week he hit a new low. The Daily Mail caught him out on his own family story. He told the Green Party conference, and a BBC Question Time audience, that his ancestors fled pogroms, ended up in Poland, “faced the Nazis,” and then arrived in England. Records show all four of his grandparents were born in northern England between 1916 and 1934. His great-grandparents were already here, long before Hitler invaded Poland. Borrowing a Holocaust flight for his own family story is an outrageous lie. There is something certifiably off-kilter about a man who does this.

Andy Burnham has been hit with a community note! He promised first time buyers they could get a new-build home with a deposit of just 2.5%. He omitted that the government would cover 20% of the price through an equity loan. Buyers would take on a mortgage and a separate government loan, which starts charging interest after 5 years. So two loans with two different interest rates. Duplicitous Burnham sold it as helping young people who struggle to save a deposit! Liebour strikes again…
Let's be honest. A lot of young people have stopped believing they'll ever own their own home. That's what happens when rents are high, house prices are high, and saving for a deposit feels impossible. My Labour government is stepping in to help. With Your First Home, first-time buyers will be able to buy a new-build home with a deposit of just 2.5%. Because hard work and saving should count for something. And because the dream of owning your own home shouldn't belong only to those with help from the bank of Mum and Dad.

I’ve seen a lot said about Ed Miliband meeting the Islamic regime foreign minister. But this concise article by @JakeWSimons says it best: “When jihadists are your underdogs and democracies are your oppressors, you’ve lost the moral argument.” Our Foreign Secretary should take the time to consider how his handshake looks to the many thousands of Iranian parents “whose children were slaughtered like animals on the streets, or blinded and castrated with shotguns, or hanged for the crime of wanting freedom, or executed by armed men as they lay in hospital.” telegraph.co.uk/gift/3a7ab2a…

♦️This old headline is haunting Ed Davey again! ♦️ Post Office Minister 2010-12, then ♦️ £275k consultant to Herbert Smith Freehills - the firm that fought the subpostmasters in court.🤦 He claims he didn't know. No matter how he tries to be Mr Happy Chappy, this is his legacy. He was working for them.

The level of bullshittery over the boats is now off the scale. We have paid France hundreds of millions to help STOP THE BOATS. Yet they locate them, track them, shadow them and allow them to continue towards Britain. Why? We are repeatedly told that intercepting them at sea and returning them is too dangerous. Yet AT SEA TRANSFERS already happen routinely. It’s the SAME English Channel. The SAME sea conditions. The SAME overloaded dinghies. Apparently transferring people from a dinghy into a British vessel at sea is perfectly acceptable. But intercepting them earlier, transferring them to a French vessel and taking them back to France is somehow too dangerous? How does that make any sense? Surely from a humanitarian and safety perspective the EARLIEST POSSIBLE INTERCEPTION is safer? Get people out of an overloaded dinghy. Prevent the dangerous Channel crossing. Take them back to the country they just left. Save lives. Instead, France shadows them and eventually Britain takes them aboard with an AT SEA TRANSFER and completes their journey. So what exactly are we paying France for? And why are we still being invaded? Then there is the completely separate issue of PORTSMOUTH. Apparently the British authorities had less than a day’s notice that this “extraordinary” boat was heading there. Yet when it arrived there were tents, reception facilities, clothes, food, coaches, processing arrangements and onward transport ready to go. Really? Bullshit! All of that was conceived, authorised, sourced, transported, staffed and operational in less than a day? That doesn’t make any sense. The British Government with that level of lighting response. 😂 So tell me: When was Portsmouth first identified as the landing location? When were the tents ordered? When were the clothes and food ordered? When were the coaches booked? When were the staff instructed to attend? Publish the timeline. Because these are two separate issues and both deserve answers. At sea, France doesn’t stop them and Britain completes the journey. On land, Britain appears remarkably well prepared to receive them. At what point do we stop calling this a failure to prevent illegal crossings and start to realise the governments are actually facilitating an invasion? They tell us they’re fighting the people traffickers. It increasingly looks like the governments ARE the people traffickers.

Ed Davey could have intervened as Post Office Minister but he refused stating he would not involve himself. It later transpired he had accepted huge sums from the legal firm blocking the postmasters in their fight for justice. A firm his brother happened to be a senior partner at.
POST OFFICE JAILED AN INNOCENT WOMAN Imagine. You run a small @PostOffice in Hull. You show up every day, you serve your community, you do the job. Then one day a computer program called Horizon decides you owe £59,000 that never existed. A computer program with a known glitch problem. Post Office didn't check the software. It just marched Janet Skinner into court in 2007 and got her jailed for 9 months. She served 2 behind bars. She lost her house. She lost her job. She lost her name in the eyes of her own neighbours, all because nobody in a position of power fancied questioning a machine. Here's where any decent organisation would stop digging the hole ... The Post Office kept digging. A year after she walked out of prison, they hauled her back into court again, this time chasing her for "proceeds of crime." Proceeds of a crime she never committed, calculated by a system that couldn't add up in the first place. Bold strategy from the people who broke the calculator in the first place. Less than two weeks after that fresh nightmare finally ended, Janet's body gave out completely. Neurological collapse. Paralysed from the neck down. Doctors told her she'd never walk again. She spent a year in a wheelchair and two years learning to walk. She says her own immune system turned on her. Years of fighting a system that refused to admit fault, and in the end it was her own body that surrendered first. So how does this story end? With an apology? A cheque that actually matches what she lost? Of course not. In 2025, after everything, the compensation scheme handed her an offer worth around 15% of her claim. Janet called it an insult. I'd call it a joke, except nobody's laughing, least of all the people who wrote the offer letter from the comfort of a job that still exists. 9 months in prison for a bug. 2 years in a wheelchair for the stress of proving her innocence. A payout that wouldn't cover the damage to her health, let alone her life. And somewhere, the people who signed off on her prosecution are still drawing a pension. Nobody who signed off on any of this has lost a house, a job, or a night's sleep. They got promotions. She got a wheelchair and an insulting cheque. Accountability had every chance to show up here and chose not to.. SOURCES @BBCNews @itvnews and others.

Andy Burnham, in two weeks of being PM, has perfectly illustrated the main problem in UK public finances. Week 1: there's a cost of living crisis, so to help you we've taken £45 a year off your electricity bill and capped bus fares at £2. Week 2: we don't have enough money to fund everything we want to do, so we're taking £630 a year out of your salary. Same government, same month. Credit where it's due first - taking VAT off electricity from October is real money, so is the £2 bus cap in January if you're on a bus twice a day. Immediate cost of living relief is genuinely needed by most people. But I'm not sure how someone who couldn't manage without that £45 a year of relief is supposed to now manage with £630 a year less in their pocket? The £630 is a 1.8% levy on income to fund a National Care Service costed at £18bn a year. On a £35,000 salary it's £630, on £50,000 it's £900. It's charged as a percentage of your income. It's collected out of your income. It is not, apparently, income tax, because they're going to call it a levy. It also only applies to taxpayers over 34... So you turn 35 and take a pay cut, at the exact age most people are stretched on a mortgage with childcare costing more than the mortgage. But the UKs ACTUALLY problem? Spending is too high. And it's too high in ways that are fixable if anyone was willing to challenge the status quo rather than buy more votes with handouts. This is where £1,383bn goes this year: Health, £269.6bn Pensions, £236.3bn Welfare, £204.0bn Education, £126.7bn Debt interest, £104.6bn Defence, £75.2bn Everything else, £367.1bn Health, £269.6bn: We need mandatory health insurance as an employment benefit and a hybrid model. Everyone hears "insurance" and pictures America, someone bleeding out over a copay, as if no other model exists on earth. The Netherlands has mandatory private health insurance. Insurers are legally required to accept everyone. They cannot charge you more for being chronically ill. A risk equalisation pool moves money towards the insurers covering the sickest people. It's consistently ranked top three in Europe. Welfare, £204.0bn: Income tax raises £330bn. So almost 2 of every 3 pounds of Income Tax taken from every working person in this country is spoken for by the welfare bill. Welfare should be for people who cannot work. Disability, genuine incapacity, the people it was built to protect. It has drifted into a general income top-up, and the number that proves it is 4.2 million working age people now claiming at least one health related benefit, up a million since 2019. Change how we determine eligibility, fix a lot of spending issues immediately. Pensions, £236.3bn: The state pension is a Ponzi scheme, and I mean that technically rather than as an insult. There is no fund - the ONS says so plainly. Your National Insurance is not being put aside and invested for your State Pension, It just pays the payouts for last year's pensioners. Yours depends entirely on there being enough workers behind you. Which, btw, there won't be. The ratio of pensioners to workers goes from 27% to 48% by 2050 (and these estimates are before we've seen the proper impact of AI/automation on jobs. Australia already fixed this: 12% of earnings into a private fund with your name on it, mandatory, employer paid. It's your money, it compounds, it doesn't need a bigger generation behind you to work. We could mandate the same tomorrow and let the state pension run down over the next 40 years, eventually saving £236bn a year. You can't levy your way out of these problems. A 1.8% charge on everyone over 34 raises £18bn. It doesn't even cover the interest on our existing debt. And in the meantime... If we're going to borrow anyway, why is none of it buying anything? Norway found oil in 1969 and put the money in a fund... That fund is now worth $2.049 trillion. It holds a stake in roughly 1.5% of every listed company on the planet. We found oil in the same decade and spent it. The UK's National Wealth Fund is capitalised at £27.8bn. Norway's is about 73 times bigger. So where is our position in AI, in data centres, in grid scale renewables, in batteries, in electric vehicles, in any of the things the next fifty years actually runs on? We borrow £133bn a year and almost none of it buys an asset. Fix government spending immediately, increase government income over time (without milking people for every penny of 'levy' you can find), and quality of life will genuinely improve as people have more money in their pockets. The UK has a spending problem, not a tax problem.

Investment backing British jobs, British firms and British skills. To every young person across the country: there is a path for you in a re-industrialised Britain, and it starts with the apprenticeships we're supporting through this investment.
Today I’m announcing a major investment in our nuclear deterrent, supporting 22,000 apprenticeships. Keeping this country safe is the first responsibility of any government - but security isn’t just about what we build, it’s about who builds it. The submarines produced in Barrow protect us all, the jobs and apprenticeships they create change lives. This is Britain - reindustrialised.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The funding was originally announced in the Defence Investment Plan under former PM Keir Starmer earlier in 2026, with the work on the DIP having started a year prior, before Burnham was even an MP. x.com/DefenceGeek/st… gov.uk/government/pub… bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

🚍📉 Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander is out celebrating the £2 bus fare cap this morning as if it’s some groundbreaking victory for working people. Let’s be clear: the Labour Party deliberately raised it to £3 from January 2025. Now, 18 months later, they’re reversing their own decision and calling it progress. Another U-turn sold as triumph. They really do think we have no memory.

Ah … Lammy’s Ministry of Justice is taking legal action to stop citizens seeing 7 years of foreign national convictions, broken down by nationality and crimes, including rape, grooming, child abuse, murder and manslaughter. The Information Commissioner has ordered the data to be released. But Lammy is spending taxpayers’ money fighting to keep it hidden. He fears the truth is so explosive that we can’t be allowed see it. This is the state censorship of an er … inconvenient truth. But we aren’t allowed to speculate, the narrative must be protected 💣

🚨Hope Not Hate has taken over the government.🚨 Meet Alison Phillips – their board member and former Mirror editor – is now Andy Burnham’s Director of Transition. She’s “very proud” to support the group that smears anyone questioning mass migration or Britain’s demographic replacement as “haters.” Her words: “We don’t want children growing up hating people for being different.” On diversity she wants to “widen the diversity of ethnicity” in newsrooms because “the British media has a lot of work to do to improve representation of black, Asian and minority ethnic people.” Expect faster open borders, forced demographic change, and more attacks on those on the right . Hope Not Hate is now steering the ship.
