A governor cannot repeal constitutional carry by executive order. Changing the 2021 statute requires a bill that passes both the Texas House and Senate (then goes to the governor). Republicans retained a Senate majority after the 2026 elections, which makes a full repeal unlikely even if she pushes for it.

Nov 6, 1941. An American cruiser stops a ship flying the American flag. It turns out to be German. It's the last time U.S. Navy sailors ever got prize money.
In the fall of 1941, the United States was still officially neutral. But American warships were patrolling the South Atlantic, watching for German ships trying to slip through the British blockade.
On Nov 6, the light cruiser USS Omaha and the destroyer USS Somers were steaming near the equator off Brazil. They spotted a freighter that started acting strangely when it saw them.
She flew the American flag and claimed to be the Willmoto of Philadelphia. But her answers to Omaha's signals didn't add up.
Omaha's captain, Theodore Chandler, sent over a boarding party.
As the Americans climbed aboard, they heard explosions below. The crew had set scuttling charges and opened valves to sink the ship, then started abandoning her in lifeboats.
The freighter wasn't the Willmoto at all. She was the German ship Odenwald, on her way home from Japan with thousands of tons of rubber, one of the materials Germany needed most for its war machine.
The boarding party raced below, stopped the flooding, and got her engines running again. The German crew was taken prisoner, and an American prize crew sailed Odenwald to the Caribbean.
The legal question was tricky. The United States wasn't at war. How could it seize a German ship? The answer was the disguise. Because Odenwald had been sailing under a false American flag, an admiralty court ruled she could be legally seized.
The case dragged on for years. In 1947 it was settled. Members of the boarding party and prize crew received around $3,000 each, a fortune at the time. The rest of the crews of Omaha and Somers got two months' extra pay.
It was the last prize money ever awarded by the U.S. Navy, a tradition stretching back to the Revolutionary War.
Captain Chandler went on to become an admiral. He was killed in January 1945 when a kamikaze hit his flagship off the Philippines. He kept helping fight the fires before he collapsed.

November 5, 1944. Manila Bay, Philippines.
Loyce Edward Deen was a 23-year-old American sailor serving as a turret gunner aboard a TBM Avenger of Torpedo Squadron 15 (VT-15), operating from USS Essex (CV-9).
During an attack against Japanese warships, his Avenger came under intense antiaircraft fire. A shell exploded in the rear turret, killing Deen instantly.
His pilot, Lt. Robert Cosgrove, managed to bring the damaged aircraft back to Essex.
But when the ground crew approached the Avenger, they discovered a terrible sight. Deen was still inside his shattered turret. His injuries were so severe that removing his remains was considered impractical.
The Navy made an extraordinary decision.
After a solemn ceremony on the flight deck, attended by his fellow sailors, the Avenger was pushed overboard with Deen still inside.
His airplane became his coffin.
Loyce Edward Deen is believed to be the only American serviceman of World War II deliberately buried at sea inside his aircraft.
The entire ceremony was captured on film. Eighty-two years later, these images remain deeply moving.
Rest in peace, Loyce. Your sacrifice has not been forgotten.

What happens when you call the police to protect someone in emotional distress and the police become the ones who hurt him?
It happened in my family. A young father, devastated by divorce, was crying in his parents’ backyard. After his little boy went back to his ex-wife’s house his mother, he told her daddy slashed his wrists. He hadn’t. It was totally untrue.
Police arrived. His father said he was in the backyard crying, but he was fine and that he asked to be left alone. They went into the backyard anyway. He told them he didn’t want to talk to anybody . They insisted. He ran. They chased him, beat his face, arrested him and charged him with resisting arrest.
He had no injuries until police arrived.
When a welfare check ends in a beating and an arrest, who exactly needed protecting someone from himself or from the police?

For all you gun owners now living in blue states, as a lifelong Washington State resident and gun owner, I have some advice for you.
Make sure your vehicle can make round trip journeys to a free state with cash and make friends with a gun shop there.
Stock up on parts and ammo, they might try to ban random things without notice.
Keep 30k rounds at all times, you might literally have to shoot your way out of the state.
Don’t lose anything in boating accidents, but also keep some items on the down-low.
Wear gloves when loading mags, that self defense shooting might anger your local prosecutor.

In Islamic law, insulting Muhammad is a capital offense. Major jurists across the schools (citing hadith and sira) prescribe death for it.
Multiple Muslim countries still have death-penalty blasphemy laws. Critics like Tommy, myself and many others in the West live under constant threat precisely because of this teaching. They have already killed our friends and colleagues.
Mo Deen is simply a Muslim not some fringe jihadi. He is a mainstream Muslim social media personality allowed into the ring, who wants to harm Tommy for simply being honest about Islam.
The same violent pattern repeats for over 1400 years now: criticize the doctrine or the crimes, face the deathly and violent reaction.
This is what is being imported. This is what America has now elected.

The photo was taken on 23 February 1969 following an intense bombardment the previous night. USS New Jersey responded to an urgent request for fire support after NVA units began assaulting a marine outpost. Throughout the night and early hours of the morning, New Jersey fired hundreds of main and secondary battery shells around the outpost, inflicting severe casualties and causing the NVA to abandon the attack.
