Please join our prayers with those of Pope Leo XIV, especially for an end to all terrorism and religious persecution. Let us pray for those who are persecuted for their faith like the Christians in Nigeria, Syria, North Korea, and Yemen. @usccbfreedom @FWdiocese @NTCatholic
Let us continue to pray together for peace. The day after tomorrow, on 27 October, let us join in spirit with the heads of churches and religious leaders who will gather in Assisi to mark the 40th anniversary of the meeting convened by Saint John Paul II. Never before has it been so clear that wars, as well as sowing death and destruction, impoverish and harm the world. May the Lord inspire choices of dialogue and peace! #PrayTogether

This is wonderful news! Thank you for your prayers and let us continue them for his ongoing good health and protection. @FWdiocese @NTCatholic @TXCatholic
Pope Leo XIV’s doctors have confirmed that the tumor removed on October 13 was a lung adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized.
Dr. Luigi Carbone and Professor Stefano Margaritora said on Wednesday evening that a subsequent oncological assessment has confirmed that “no further treatment is necessary.”

Having consecrated the @FWdiocese to the #SacredHeart of Jesus, let us ask Saint Margaret Mary to intercede for us.
Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, a nun of the Order of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary: she ran along the way of perfection in an extraordinary manner and, endowed with mystical gifts, she was particularly zealous in her devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, accomplishing much to promote that cult throughout the Church. She fell asleep in the Lord at Paray-le-Monial in the territory of Autun in France, on the seventeenth of October.
Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, pray for us!

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. We honor the life of every baby lost too soon and our hearts go out to every mother and father who carries that grief. You are not alone, and your child’s life mattered.
The right to life is the premier moral issue because all human rights depend upon the human person being alive. The right to life is the common ground for the morality of all issues considered in policies involving human dignity and the common good. @FWdiocese @TXCatholic
James Talarico worked to find common ground with one Texas voter who said she votes exclusively on the issue of abortion.
Talarico said that while he supports some abortion access, he said he wants to see fewer unplanned pregnancies and abortions overall, and that the issue should be viewed instead as a "public policy problem."

Christians of the first century understood clearly that abortion was immoral. The Didache, a Christian ethics manual written between 50-100 AD, states, “You shall not murder a child by abortion nor kill them when born.” @FWdiocese @NTCatholic @TXCatholic @usccbprolife #TXLege

.@jamestalarico, who supports abortion up until the moment of birth, now says that he wants to “reduce the number of abortions.” But why? If abortion doesn’t murder a baby, why reduce the number of them? And if it does, why permit them?

Here's more on the FedEx shareholder resolution that we filed, asking FedEx to generate a report analyzing its risk under the Comstock Act since it ships mifepristone, an abortifacient.
Thank you, @PiadeSolenni and @FWdiocese for your help with my latest story, in which Bishop Michael Olson said he hopes to further the culture of life by urging @FedEx to consider whether it's violating federal law by mailing abortion pills to pro-life states: ewtnnews.com/world/us/fort-w…
Thanks to @POTUS for the right decision not to livestream the execution of the terrorist, Nidal M. Hasan, who unjustly murdered 14 people at Fort Hood. This decision at least stops us from taking a step deeper into the violent culture of death by exploiting Hasan and his victims’ survivors. @TXCatholic @usccbprolife @MilArchUSA
The Texas bishops, joined by Archbishop Timothy Broglio @MilArchUSA, condemn the planned execution of Nidal M. Hasan at Fort Hood and its proposed public broadcast, warning of further trauma to victims’ families, survivors, and military personnel. txcatholic.org/archbishop-ti… #TXLege
Please remember to pray for all members of the Carmelite order especially the nuns praying for us in the Carmel of Jesus Crucified in Muenster, Texas. @FWdiocese @NTCatholic @NolanCatholic @UCCatUTA @SMG1200S @cathschlkeller @holytcs @SASFortWorth
Saint Teresa of Jesus, Doctor of the Church: she joined the Carmelite Order at Avila in Spain, and became the mother and teacher of the stricter observance. She envisioned the progress of prayer in her heart as the gradual ascent of the soul towards God, and underwent many trials for the reform of her Order, overcoming them with an undaunted spirit. She also composed works full of the most profound teaching, founded on her own experience.

Happy Deacon Sunday!
We thank all deacons serving in the Diocese of Fort Worth for answering God's call to the permanent diaconate!! Many deacons work full-time while fulfilling their vocation as "servants of the servants".
May many more men from our Diocese answer the call.
Let us continue to pray for the complete recovery of Pope Leo XIV. @FWdiocese @NTCatholic @TXCatholic @USCCB
Pope Leo XIV underwent a 90-minute surgery to remove a lung nodule on Oct. 13 which confirmed a diagnosis of lung cancer, the Vatican has announced.
Dr. Stefano Margaritora, the hospital's chief thoracic surgeon, led a medical team in the video- assisted technique operation. In a joint statement with Dr. Luigi Carbone released at just before 10 p.m. Rome time, the doctors said that the "examination confirmed the diagnosis of
lung adenocarcinoma, as suspected by the preoperative tests."
"The Holy Father was in the operating room for about 3 hours; the surgery itself lasted approximately 90 minutes," the statement said.
Please join us in continued prayers for the Holy Father 🙏
Today is the Feast of Saint John XXIII! He said, “Before everything else, fidelity to the Church: One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. Charity is our wedding garment that we wear after entering the banquet hall through the door of faith! @FWdiocese @TCCUA @StMarysSem_Balt
Have you ever wondered why the guest was thrown out of the wedding feast for not wearing a wedding garment?

"This morning, the Holy Father announced he will undergo surgery for a lung nodule in the coming days. The bishops of the United States join with the faithful and all people of good will in praying for his good health. May the hand of Pope Leo's surgeons be guided by the divine physician Jesus Christ. Please find a moment today, as I will, to offer a prayer for Pope Leo and his care team." - Archbishop Paul S.
