This is a lie. Here is the exact text from the filing, where they specifically ask to stop certification.
The Attorney General of the United States is a bald face liar.
The Department of Justice does not seek to stop any ballot from being cast or to stop the certification of Alaska's election. This litigation seeks to ensure that after Alaskans cast their ballots, they are preserved in a manner so that only Alaska's governing officials have the information necessary to make a determination as to whether Alaskan voters were confused or mislead.
The lawsuit was written by Justice Department attorneys and the Department did not coordinate with any campaign or candidate, but rather relied solely on federal law.

Trump says we’re building “more factories and plants right now than at any time in our history.”
Factory construction hit a historic record under Biden and has fallen 31% since Trump took office.

Both Republicans and Democrats hate our country as it is, but love our country as it should be. They simply disagree on what it should be.
Republicans loves a country that televises firing squads, while Democrats hates such a country.
Republicans love a country that seizes parts of private companies, while Democrats hate such a country. Which is weird, because Republicans are calling the Democrats "Socialists", I think they are deeply confused about what "Socialism" means.
Republicans hate the country the Founders created, one based upon the rule of law, due process, freedom of speech, peace, and no dictators.

Such brazen propaganda was a major theme of Orwell's "1984". This is factually false, and obviously so. Yet that doesn't stop the Trump admin from repeating it over and over again until their supporters believe it's some sort of Truth.

Call me crazy, but I think Tesla would fair better with a competent full-time CEO instead of an egomaniac wannabe oligarch who lies to shareholders, engages in resource tunneling with his private competing company, and is lost in one of the worst cases of social media addiction that I've ever seen.

Let’s dive into this debate: is there a legitimate argument against requiring voter ID?
The answers are twofold:
• Democrats have valid reasons for opposing it.
• Republicans aren’t really focused on voter ID itself but on whether elections are being stolen through Democratic conspiracies.
Historical Context
For most of U.S. history, voter ID has not been a requirement. One key reason is that we haven’t lived in a police state where the government tracks individuals. We’ve traditionally resisted ID requirements, as evidenced by pushback against the Real ID requirement for air travel.
Historically, voting was about "community." Voter ID wasn’t relevant; what mattered was whether your neighbors knew who you were. Those who could vote were typically white male landowners—those with a stake in defending the community and joining its militia if needed. This was progressive for its time: in 1776, while only 1.5% of the British population could vote, 30% of Americans could—a vast expansion of the electorate (even though today we see this as backward).
Local politics were the priority. Voting was about being a recognized member of your town or county. People knew who belonged, and that was enough. This is why the Constitution is vague about who has the right to vote, leaving much of it up to local communities. While Congress has established that national elections require citizenship, some cities still allow non-citizens to vote in local elections.
For over 200 years, voter ID wasn’t the norm. Today, however, we live in an era where ID is required for even trivial activities like buying alcohol or banking. It's reasonable to say we should have voter ID -- but that doesn't mean opposing it is unreasonable.
Democratic Concerns
Democrats’ resistance to voter ID is reasonable for several reasons. First, they argue it disproportionately disenfranchises Black voters, who tend to vote Democrat and are less likely to have valid government IDs. Republicans began pushing for voter ID laws over a decade ago, largely with the intent of suppressing these voters.
The strongest voter ID laws are found in the Old South, areas with a notorious history of disenfranchising Black voters. Notably, many Republican-dominated states in the Midwest and rural areas don’t have such laws. The pattern suggests that voter ID laws are strongest where there’s a Republican majority and a significant non-white population.
Republican Motives
While Republicans claim they are simply protecting election integrity, their push for voter ID has increasingly become part of a broader narrative about stolen elections. This narrative gained momentum after Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claims that the 2020 election was stolen. Trump’s supporters argue that the lack of voter ID has led to fraudulent votes, including from undocumented immigrants, though there’s no evidence of widespread fraud that could have changed the outcome of the election.
Investigations have uncovered only isolated incidents of fraud, and these have been dealt with by law enforcement. However, Republicans continue to exploit the issue, using it to justify claims that 2020 was stolen and, by extension, to rationalize actions like the January 6 invasion of the Capitol. The ongoing argument about voter ID is less about the ID itself and more about fueling distrust in the electoral process.
The Bigger Picture
The debate is also setting the stage for potential disruptions in future elections. In 2022, some Republican officials refused to certify election results, and there are plans for more such disruptions in 2024. The argument over voter ID is just one piece of a larger strategy.
Conclusion
#1 Democrats oppose voter ID laws, particularly in Southern Republican states where such laws have historically been used for voter suppression. Their position is understandable, given this context.
#2 Republicans’ focus on voter ID isn’t just about the ID requirement itself—it’s part of a broader effort to claim that elections are being stolen through Democratic fraud.
Disclaimer: I think we've lost the battle against the police state and voter ID reasonable. We can address disenfranchisement concerns by making such IDs free. In other words, if somebody comes to a registration office to register to vote, give them a free picture ID.

BREAKING: Taylor Swift ENDORSES VP Kamala Harris
FULL STATEMENT:
Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.
Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.
I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.
I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.
With love and hope,
Taylor Swift
