Bravo Carney. Standing up to Musk. Europe must take notice and not let Musk bully and blackmail them.

Durante estos años, España ha defendido en el mundo el sentir de su gente: que ninguna guerra es inevitable, que ninguna vida vale menos que otra. Los mismos principios. En todos los conflictos. Sin dobles raseros.

2026: David Frost criticises Labour for believing the 'propaganda' that Brexit has shrunk GDP 4-8% 2015: David Frost says being in the EU has raised GDP 5-8% My view: David Frost is a striking example of ideology being put ahead of reality—and of how that can pay off in politics. His hard-Brexit stance helped propel him into the role of chief Brexit negotiator and, ultimately, a seat in the House of Lords. In 2015, Frost argued that EU membership had lifted UK GDP by “five, six, seven, eight per cent” through the single market. Now he dismisses as “propaganda” the claim that Brexit has cost the UK 4–8% of GDP. The estimates aren’t identical: one concerns the benefit of single-market membership, the other the cost of leaving. But the contradiction is hard to miss. Frost once used a large GDP estimate to make the case for the EU; now, when estimates point to Brexit’s economic damage, he waves them away as propaganda. That isn’t a serious engagement with the evidence. It’s an ideological position being defended at any cost. And Frost is hardly alone. Too many politicians and public figures have chosen the career advantage of repeating a convenient line over the harder duty of telling the truth about what is best for the country. When people are rewarded for helping to damage the nation they serve, that is a profound failure of democratic accountability.

Funny how the people who claim Britain is being taken over by dangerous extremists are now dressing alike, hiding their faces and issuing ominous warnings to the Government. Patriots, apparently.

Over 500,000 people marched in France last weekend. The vast majority were unmasked and white. They were protesting against the cost of living and poor public services. Don't fall for the rightwing spin.

“Indefinite Leave to Remain means you can live on benefits for the rest of your life” says Nigel Farage Imagine his shock when he finds out just 2.8% of UC claimants have been granted indefinite leave to remain
The comments made by @Nigel_Farage about Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) are complete bull****! The £200bn figure he uses has no basis in reality and is unsupported by any reliable data - and he knows it. If UK news shows won’t call this boll**** out let’s do it ourselves

At a time of growing global uncertainty, cooperation between the UK and EU matters more than ever. European Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič has reaffirmed the vital importance of the UK–EU partnership, highlighting the shared economic, security and geopolitical challenges facing us. Stronger ties with our European neighbours are firmly in our shared interests.

The next time Nick Clegg in invited onto BBC to pontificate as an independent tech expert…please note that here he is, named in the $27bn New Mexico judgment as one of execs engaged in a systematic cover-up of Facebook’s deceptive consumer practices.
Woah! Go New Mexico. This is a really important message to Silicon Valley tech companies: you are not above the law

Deeply alarmed by yet another Russian escalation in the Black Sea. A civilian vessel carrying Ukrainian and Azerbaijani crew has been struck off the coast of Romania. These reckless attacks target innocent lives and openly defy international law. My thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the sailor that was killed. And with the families of the three crew members still missing. My gratitude goes to the rescue teams working tirelessly to find them.

UK crime was four times higher when Oasis first played Knebworth than at last year’s reunion gigs. The collapse of crime and safer streets is one of the biggest stories of our time. But one almost never told - or believed. My take on today’s figures: comment.press/lawless
