Not sure how many more games we get to see @_TroyHunt catch. Still one of the best receiving catchers I’ve seen in Ohio.
Watched @_TroyHunt get his first career head coaching W. 10-1 win and his guys pitched a no-no striking out 12. HoneyDippers back at it tomorrow.
I coached @_TroyHunt for a long time - playoff Troy was just a little different. Pitch to him at your own risk coaches.
District Semi Final - Had a fun game - 3 Run HR here. 2B, BB, 5RBIs, 2Rs in an 11-3 win.

I’m convinced if your travel org has more than one team per age group - it’s never about the players or development.
It’s 100% continuity of business operations.
If your travel ball program, runs travel ball teams for their primary source of income, they have to lie to you.
They have to dip and dive, they have to sugarcoat and they have to paint a glamorous picture, because they need to fill up A teams, B teams, C teams all the way to Z teams. They need numbers to drive their income.
Find an organization that will tell you the truth.
An organization that will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.
An organization that genuinely has your kids best interest in mind.
An organization that mandates a perform to play model.
An organization with standards, expectations and non negotiables.
An organization with mature, intelligent coaches doing it for the right reasons.
An organization void of politics.
An organization with a track record of success.
An organization with a recruiting network.
An organization with experience helping kids through the development, recruiting, collegiate and professional baseball experience.

Getting some live AB’s at my buddy @_TroyHunt place, put a good swing on this one for a line drive in the gap.
Not universally accepted advice - but I agree.
Keep working and competing - success will come.
Want a great travel ball experience?
Outwork the competition.
Out sacrifice the competition.
Strive to be the strongest and most physical player in your organization.
Be reliable.
Be dependable.
Plant roots in an organization and fertilize.
All of these things are easier said than done.
and
Not many do them.
Players that do, have incredible travel ball experiences.

Be Weird.
High School and or college players that have plus makeup, outstanding maturity, off the chart work ethic, driven to be the best they can be in the classroom, and willing to sacrifice now for what they want later are considered weird.
Get your priorities right.
Be Weird.

A coach can only do so much to help an athlete improve. Ultimately, the success of an athlete comes down to their inner drive. Once they become intrinsically motivated, they can get the most out of their coach and reach their full potential.
Get the swing down - play games and attack the baseball. Might take a second to get the groove going, but, it’ll come.
🚨Hitters🚨
You don’t need a constant cycle of mechanical changes in order to be great! Once you’ve learned the foundational techniques and mechanics of the swing and personalized what works best for you individually, then you are ready to really learn how to hit!
REAL HITTING BEGINS WHEN THE SWING FOCUS ENDS!
Unfortunately, many hitters will never learn what REAL HITTING is all about because they are misled to believe that their swing dictates on-field success or failure. So, they constantly make changes trying to improve, not knowing that the constant mechanical focus and changes is the main thing causing a lot of their real hitting problems!

The most important factor of an athlete’s performance is their mental game. With a strong mental game, an average athlete can play like a champion. With a weak mental game, a physically gifted athlete can play like a beginner.
