This is who our government is calling a “monster” and a “domestic terrorist.”
Lies travel fast when violence needs cover
what stands out to me here is that Pretti is posing almost no threat at all here before it happens. In fact, he's helping one person who is hurt, then goes to help another person who is pushed, and only then appears to be sprayed right in the face before it all transpires.
Replying to @robdoar
Clearer look. I never see the man touch his firearm, and it looks like he's disarmed before being shot.

Happy to share that I am starting my own research group @BrotmanBaty and @uwgenome with an early independence award from @NIH_CommonFund #NIHHighRisk
Did you know that the @NIHDirector’s Early Independence Award supports junior #scientists to launch independent careers? Look at how this year’s awardees are “skipping the postdoc” and will pursue their own #biomedical and #BehavioralResearch

A fun improvement over the cell-squisher!🎉 I promise the original squisher was not built as a form of punishment for unruly cells
Do you like squishing cells as much as we do? Here is a protocol for a simple, inexpensive device using agarose micropillars to control the confinement, inspired by @LiamHoltLab. Fantastic collaboration by @ElpersMaggie, @AliceAVarlet and Richa Agrawal. currentprotocols.onlinelibra…

Their results are bizarre and inhuman. @NeelNanda5 trained a tiny transformer to do addition, then spent weeks figuring out what it was doing - one of the only times in history someone has understood how a transformer works.
This is the algorithm it created. To *add two numbers*!

We found clean, CAUSAL evidence that the shingles vaccine prevents a good chunk of dementia cases. So, could a virus cause Alzheimer’s->YES!

I tried autoGPT and learned that 1) its a compelling approximation of what an effective agent might look like and 2) it doesn’t really work. You wouldn’t know that from Twitter the last couple of weeks..

It’s tragic that Silicon Valley Bank could lose 80%+ of its value in a single day.
But what’s crazy is that the financial collapse was largely driven by a communication collapse.
Their storyline unraveled and their messaging went off the rails, in 4 big ways.
