The truest piece I’ve read in a long time. Thank you @BulwarkOnline
"I’ve never played a single game of baseball. Not once. Never even threw, or caught, a baseball until I was in college. I have no personal connection to the game....For me, the joy of baseball has been walking with my little boy as he grew."

Major revelation here from @Timodc on the Mike and Kristi Rogers scandal.
We reported that she was Paul Bremer’s press aid in Iraq and that he traveled there frequently as a married member of Congress. He divorced his first wife in 2007 and married Kristi in 2010. Rogers joined the Intel committee in 2005.
In 2006, Kristi launched the U.S. subsidiary of Aegis, a defense contractor, which quickly started getting massive contracts.
Tim Miller adds a key detail: Kristi Clemens was Rogers’ finance director for his 2000 campaign. So they knew each other this entire time.
Rogers and his wife threatened to sue us over our first story. We stand by our reporting.
Welp

A group dispatched by Hegseth's team in February attempted to move the historic globe, said to be used by Eisenhower during World War II.
They lifted it from its home in an Army office in the Pentagon ... and dropped it.

ok. this is an actual endorsement of the Vivek ad, unlike his earlier line that he was upset that republicans were upset with the ad. Can't really believe that they're attaching themselves to this thing.
Vance: "And now the media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because, guess what? Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Court records and 1978 reports confirm Amy Acton's stepfather was arrested and charged with raping her at age 12; he fled Ohio before trial and was declared a fugitive. Her brother has corroborated the events. Vivek and Vance are siding with abusers over a victim.

Classic. Not endorsing the ad just lamenting the gop internal disgust over it.
Reporter: "Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign put out a controversial ad featuring his opponent's mother…Do you think that ad was appropriate?"
Vance: "I have to admit that I'm a little bit disgusted when I see Republicans across the country who are whining more about that advertisement than they are about what…Democrats want to do to the United States of America."
Susan Collins says she's delivered for Maine. But the question is what baseline do you measure her accomplishments against? @saletan dove into the record and found her case pretty unpersuasive

NEW: Evicting reporters from the Brady briefing room is very much on the table still for President Trump, as he and his administration have escalated their aggressive moves against the press. @jonathanvswan me nytimes.com/2026/10/20/us/po…

BREAKING:
A billionaire wanted a Trump pardon.
His family gave Alina Habba a $50 million deal.
Julio Herrera Velutini's daughter hired Habba -- then a senior adviser to Pam Bondi at the Justice Department -- at $10 million a year for four years plus bonuses.
He got his pardon not long after.

Trump voters in South Carolina are pretty sour on Darline Graham. And Democrat Annie Andrews is a reasonably strong candidate. But is that enough in a state Trump won by 18 points? thebulwark.com/p/darline-gra…
