Edmonton transit issues, ❄️ removal delays, & rising costs yet the city still spends resources keeping Lucy the 🐘trapped at the Valley Zoo instead of sending her to a sanctuary. If #yeg can't function properly 4 Edmontonians, 🛑 pretending it's equipped to care for an elephant.

🇬🇧🚨The #HindRajabFoundation, has filed a criminal complaint in the United Kingdom against Lidor Dafna, an Israeli soldier serving in the 603rd Combat Engineering Battalion of the 7th Armored Brigade, for war crimes and genocide committed in the Gaza Strip. 🚨🇬🇧 Lidor Dafna filmed himself destroying one of the last remaining food production facilities serving a starving population, then posted the footage on social media as a trophy. The United Kingdom now faces a simple test: will it arrest and prosecute a man, who remains an active soldier of an army carrying out such crimes, or once again permit a perpetrator of genocide to walk freely on its soil and return to Gaza and Lebanon to continue committing his crimes? We have filed our complaint. Now it is up to the British authorities to act.

Banning non-citizens from accessing welfare and NDIS payments would boost the budget by another $2 billion, said Shadow Treasurer Tim Wilson.
Tim, my darling boy, do you really not know or understand that the NDIS is only for Australian citizens? Sure, there are some permanent residents, but given that they are projecting that they will kick off 300,000 participants by 2031, the math ain’t mathing.
Savings from whom, exactly? How many people are you expecting to exclude? How much of that billion comes from the NDIS, and how much from welfare payments that already have residency restrictions and waiting periods? The figures add up on paper, but you’ve published none of the assumptions needed to establish whether they’re credible. And where have you accounted for the costs transferred to hospitals, state services and families when people are denied disability support? Calling something a Parliamentary Budget Office costing doesn’t absolve you of explaining it.
Perhaps you should publish the underlying assumptions, the participant numbers and the separate savings for each programme. Because right now, your $2 billion looks less like a demonstrated saving and more like a number desperately searching for an explanation.
Oh. And we intend to make sure you lose the election. Sorry, love. Not just you - you won’t be lonely. You and Jim can set up shop together. Selling, idk, Victorian trinkets or tiny ornate bottles of gin :) (I am here for this)

If you need to semantically bleach the meaning of your words to convince yourself that the violence you inflict upon us is justifiable, then your morality is a farce. Unequivocally, needless violence & cruelty is not, nor can ever be “humane”.

Adam Lawford (mugshot needed) has been banned from keeping animals for five years after brutally attacking Brandy, an 11-month-old cocker spaniel, in a public street.
Witnesses watched as the terrified puppy tried to escape between parked cars. Lawford grabbed him, shook him, lifted him into the air and slammed him onto the pavement. Brandy appeared unconscious at one point.
Then, in a shocking escalation, Lawford picked the young dog up by his back legs and tried to put him in a recycling bin as members of the public intervened.
Brandy suffered bruising, abrasions and wounds consistent with the attack. A veterinary assessment also identified psychological trauma.
Lawford denied wrongdoing and claimed witnesses had fabricated their accounts. However, he was convicted after the court heard witness evidence and viewed CCTV footage. The judge described the incident as an “appalling offence”.
His punishment? A five-year animal ban — with the right to apply to have it lifted after just three years.
He also received a two-year community order, including 120 days of alcohol abstinence monitoring, a £360 fine, £700 in costs and a £144 victim surcharge.
For many, the question will be whether a ban that can potentially be lifted after three years offers sufficient protection for animals.
Thankfully, Brandy survived. After being signed over to the RSPCA, he recovered and was eventually rehomed.

Justify this." That is the question Edmonton officials need to answer. Keeping a senior Asian 🐘isolated on packed dirt & snow isn't animal care, it's a failure of leadership.
