Fat people cleave onto to the oppression of darker skin people to feel better about their shortcomings. Your fatness (which 9/10 is a lifestyle choice) cannot be conflated with colorism that attacks an immutable characteristic. Besides THIN *dark* women rule the modeling industry

Why are tyla fans mad? It's not bad to get inspiration from someone. Not like ayra would deny it in her interview and say "I have always wanted to do this" like some people
Ayra Starr’s “Ms. Paper” music video seems to be inspired by Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” music video.

the people who deflect with ‘you just want to see black girls in white tv shows’ whenever these conversations come back up always ignore the black actresses saying that they’re not being cast in anything else bc black YA projects barely exist.

i 1000% agree. people will fight harder to label biracial people as black than they will to acknowledge the way monoracial black women, especially darkskinned women, are treated in the industry... there’s a difference between being biracial/mixed and being monoracially black,
This is why people need to stop calling mixed people Black, it never made sense to me

To begin with, Rihanna and Ayra Starr don’t even primarily make the same genre of music. This agenda is dead on arrival. You can’t be the next “someone” when both artists music caters mostly to different audiences.
It's always amazes me when people claim Tyla is trying to be next Rihanna while Ayra has been literally trying everything to be the new Rihanna

Many of us in the SW grew up with Muslim family members & friends who say 'Insha Allah' & 'Allahu Akbar'. We know what those words meant in oir part of Nigeria & they do not signal anything sinister or a killing. Killing people is not a semantics conversation. Thousands have been killed in the name of religion to deny that this is only something imagined by non-Muslims, especially in the northern part of Nigeria.
I love how Nigerian Christians suddenly develop amnesia when it suits them. 😂 Burna Boy says “Insha Allah,” and them kuffs are explaining that using Arabic words doesn’t make someone Muslim. Even Christians use “Insha Allah” and “Alhamdulillah.” Mfs we’ve been saying this for years. Anyone can use Arabic expressions. Yet, when a terrorist commits a crime and shouts “Allahu Akbar,” you immediately use those same words as proof that Islam is responsible. When Burna Boy says “Insha Allah,” it’s just Arabic, but when a terrorist says “Allahu Akbar,” it’s evidence against Islam? Double, triple, quadruple standards😂

“No wonder” black women, specifically dark skin women have been saying this for YEARSSSSS and the black community has just called us bitter, jealous & irrational.
Bro this is insane. No wonder the zendaya and chase infinity archtype are booming in the industry

And while we’re at it let’s speak on how white women are most of the casting directors so if this is the issue it’s mostly white women pushing mono black women out

Any slight critique of the colorist industry happens then u got self hating/colorist black ppl start screaming at dark skin women for “attacking” biracial actresses sjsjjssjjs EVERY time
Saying that Hollywood favors the likes of Zendaya and Chase Infiniti is not the same as saying they aren’t good actresses. Multiple things can be true.

How did you manage to make this conversation about « diverstors » ?
the federally-funded divestor accounts were saying black women don’t get roles bc they don’t wear their natural hair out like chase infiniti does 🥺

The fake support of segregation on here is hilarious You would protest if your predominantly white employer didn’t hire you bc of your hair. When affirmative action was shot down we weren’t “looking to white universities to get accepted in”.. so why is it okay in Hollywood?
Y’all looking at the whitest areas of television with big doe eyes for representation but I’m the slow one #okay

The two artists have very different sounds. And she doesn’t just rip off Rih’s influence without crediting. She builds her own ideas and is inspired by others art. And when you watch both MVs it’s so easy to recognize how Rudeboy and Ms.Paper are two different worlds.
