The entire first half of the game was fun and pleasant. No one cared that we were there. We were talking to our seat neighbors and enjoying.
Then in the 2nd half someone decided we should be kicked out. For a t-shirt.
I didn't capture the half of it. There were so many more people screaming in our faces and saying we should kill ourselves.

CAUSE members met Abigail Martinez when she courageously testified in Sacramento against AB 957, sharing with members of the California legislature the tragic story of what the state of California had done to her daughter Yaeli.
That was early in 2023. How our legislators have persisted in pushing gender identity insanity into California law beyond the moment of her testimony is something we will never understand.
Enough is enough. No child is born in the wrong body, and it is a parent’s sacred duty to protect their child from lies.

The pernicious lie that some children are born into the wrong body has taken hold across our institutions, leading to the state ripping children from loving parents’ arms and administering harmful drugs with lifelong consequences.
Kudos to everyone who fought to make this monumental bill happen, especially my friend @ErinFriday75490. And thank you to @BrandonMShow for his early reporting on Yaeli Martinez’s tragic story, in whose honor this bill is named.

Wiener and Newsom sure are obsessed with harming "youth" to advance their lunatic worldview. SB 934 compels therapists to lie to patients and their families, from "affirming" porn-induced fetishes in older teen boys, to agreeing with sad tween girls they can escape their pain by poisoning their bodies, to telling tiny children they were indeed magically born in the wrong body. SB 934 is state-enforced psychiatric malpractice.
Thank you @GavinNewsom for signing my bill to strengthen California’s ban on youth conversion therapy — psychological torture where a therapist tries to change someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity. Conversion therapy has caused incalculable harm to LGBTQ young people over the years.
The Supreme Court recently — and ridiculously — ruled that youth conversion therapy can qualify as “free speech,” and SB 934 increases our odds of defending California’s ban in court.
We must stick up for kids and ensure they aren’t subjected to this abusive therapy.

A landmark Finnish study has found a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents following sex-alteration procedures.
The peer-reviewed study, published in Acta Paediatrica, tracked every young person under 23 who contacted Finland's gender clinics between 1996 and 2019.
A total 2,083 individuals were studied, with 16,643 matched controls. They were followed for up to 25 years.
Finland's health registers are mandatory, which means no one opts out — this is the complete national picture.
The numbers: psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in adolescents who underwent feminising reassignment, and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising reassignment.
Even after adjusting for prior psychiatric history, gender-referred adolescents faced five times the risk of male population controls, and three times the risk of female controls.
"Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment," the authors concluded.
Referrals after 2010 arrived sicker. 47.9% had already needed psychiatric treatment before their first clinic visit, against 15.3% among controls.
The authors' read: for some adolescents, gender distress may be secondary to other mental health challenges.
The evidence keeps mounting. The silencing continues anyway.

Many groups submitted opposition letters throughout the bill process. All are listed in the various committee & floor analyses. Wins like this are rare but remind us: Resistance Matters. Every letter, testimony, public comment, email, phone call, and VOTE matters!
A rare win for California! Newsom vetoed AB 2164!! It would have prevented extradition for California doctors involved in sex-rejecting procedures, minors or otherwise. @JamieWhistle gave blistering testimony along with @gregburt10 from @CAFamily. @CAcause25 policy letters were quoted extensively in the bill analysis. @DIAGdemocrats & @OurDutyGrp also entered the fray with their opposition!
This was the latest brick in the wall that the CA Dems are trying to build to shield doctors that remove girls’ healthy breasts, chemically castrate kids and damage endocrine systems. SB 107 (Wiener, 2022) put sex-rejecting procedures for out-of-state minors beyond the reach of other states' courts. And then SB 497 (Wiener, 2025) extended the wall to doctors and their records. It will be interesting to see what happens to other pending “shield wall” legislation sitting on Newsom’s desk…AB 1854 and AB 1930. 👀

Eight years later, the New York state legislature voted to replace the term "mother" with "gestating parent" and "father" with "non-gestating parent."
