Robotic-assisted rectal cancer surgery is associated with superior short- and long-term outcomes, a large-scale study finds.📈
Compared to open and laparoscopic procedures, robot-assisted surgery had the lowest complication and mortality rates, the shortest hospital stays, and the highest 5-year overall survival and relapse-free survival.🇯🇵

His #legacy will be formally acknowledged in our upcoming editorial.
For many of us, he was not only a colleague, but a dear friend. We are still coming to terms with this loss.
He will be sorely missed.

Neil, championed patient voices before it was trendy, gave me space to be heard, opportunities to bring patient led research forward. I’ll miss his wit, kindness, shoe-swapping, handbag-holding brilliance. May he rest in peace🙏
