If you had a cap/floor all the good teams would still be good and the bad teams would be bad. The contract numbers would go down or become complex to understand (NFL)
The pirates would still suck
You know what happens with a cap/floor?
Cheap owners sign 3 aging stars they can use to sell jerseys and cheap out on everything else while good teams do all kinds cap shenanigans and still win
Replying to @CDHenry_PA
If you think a salary cap will make your cheap ass owner want to be competitive I’ve got a bridge to sell you
Absolutely not
With free agency already underway, and recognizing that Clubs will need a full offseason to operate within the cap and floor system, MLB is proposing to phase in the salary cap and floor in 2028
The projected cap and floor payrolls for 2028 would make 12 clubs increase payroll by $636M to reach the floor, and 8 clubs to decrease payroll $528M to reach the cap. Overall, this would net a $108M payroll increase
Starting in 2028 would allow a smoother transition into the cap and floor system without delaying key player benefits

In my humble non-Navy opinion; the names Enterprise, Yorktown, Lexington, Saratoga, Hornet, Wasp, Ranger, and Independence should be in permanent rotation for the carriers.

They're doing BOGO sales on souls in Purgatory 💀
Catholics, reminder:
You can free a soul from purgatory every day this week.
From Nov 1–8, the Church grants a plenary indulgence, applicable to the souls in purgatory, each day you:
1. Visit a cemetery and pray for the dead (even silently)
2. Go to confession (within about 20 days before or after)
3. Receive Holy Communion
4. Pray for the Pope's intentions (an Our Father and Hail Mary is enough)
5. Be detached from all sin, even venial
Today only (All Souls Day): you can also gain one by visiting a church and praying the Our Father and the Creed.
One confession covers the whole week. Communion and the prayer for the Pope are needed for each day's indulgence.
And if you're not fully detached from sin, you still gain a partial indulgence. So go anyway.
Repost this to spread the word. The souls in purgatory need our help.

I'm glad Dort is joining me in condemning the Confederate cause and agreeing it was indefensible. He, no doubt, opposes reinstalling the monument in Arlington to these democratic party revolutionaries

Henry Olsen gets it right: "No serious analyst thinks Republicans will have a good night as midterm returns roll in. The open question is whether it will be merely bad, terrible or something akin to being eaten by a Cyclops."

Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls.
That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching.
I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee.
Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.
Astounding to me that any of these guys (who are almost exactly my age) thought Trump would actually do anything to improve their lives instead of doing exactly what he has always done

Russian forces lost 54,400 killed or seriously wounded in October 2026 in exchange for a net loss of 27 square kilometers of territory.
Russian forces faced their highest monthly losses of the war thus far to lose ground at an average pace of -0.88 square kilometers per day.
NEW: Russian forces lost ground on the battlefield in October 2026 for the second month in a row. Russian forces continue to sustain significant personnel losses while losing ground, and Russia’s current force generation system continues to recruit fewer soldiers than needed to replace these losses. These factors likely explain Putin’s turn to a new theory of victory that relies on using long-range ballistic missiles and jet-powered drone strikes to hammer Ukraine into surrender over the winter.
