Mariota for sure. Heās the best CFB QB on here. Burrow had a legendary season but what Mariota did over 3 years was incredible.
-11,000 passing yds

Anyone who thinks this canāt be replaced is in denial.

it's a good thing you aren't making the decision... no offense but outside of Freeman (still iffy), any of these hires just pack up the program
If youāre looking for a coach that will turn around the program in Yr1, itās a very short list
The goal should be to find a HC that succeeds where Day has failed. Diaz has shown the ability to not only lead an elite defense, but is a hell of a playerās coach as well

two things can be true at once. Manny Diaz had a better resume than day did and Diaz is still not good enough to be the coach at osu and not worth the price to upheave the day regime
And every day that goes by it becomes more and more clear Chip Kelly & Jim Knowles were behind that ring in 2024

His gimmick works on those āoverlookedā, osu will tire of him like they are now of day, except day has a ring

Okay bro.
Notice how the hype behind Colorado died as soon as the honeymoon was over and the cameras actually started watching the on field product
SEC levels of media hype with nothing to show for it
Colorado falls to 3-6 after losing 20-10 to Arizona State.
Deion Sanders at Colorado:
19-27 overall
10-23 in conference games
2-10 against ranked opponents

Marcus Freeman thatās the list. Everyone else you listed is a No. I would rather have Fickle than Lanning or any of the guys you listed. It should be someone from Ohio that knows how we play football and is proven. Chesney is the only outside of Ohio consideration.

Everyone who Ohio State would interview for a potential opening has a better rƩsumƩ than Ryan Day did when he was named head coach:
Heās consistently won at a program that historically is not great, and done so with very little backing
Heās a playerās coach and one of the most intense in the country. You give him the Ohio State war chest and he will be able to bring in recruits just by being himself
Ryan Day had CJ Stroud, Marvin Harrison Jr, TreVeyon Henderson, Emeka Egbuka & JSN on the same team and failed to do anything with them
The only dumb take is that Lanning has had more talent than Day. Itās not even close
Replying to @CFB_KB
Your take is so dumb youāre forcing me to defend Ryan Day, who I want deported from Ohio immediately. Nike gives Lanning a blank check every year. Just because JJ is the best player in CFB doesnāt mean they donāt have as much or more talent than us year in and year out.
Yes. The same Dan Lanning who is 2-1 vs Ohio State.
As for more talent? Not a chance. Jeremiah Smith alone is a better talent x10 than Oregonās best player under Lanning

Dan Lanning? The guy that has arguably had MORE talent than Day and done even less with it?

The 2024 national championship is like Penn State's 2016 win over Ohio State and subsequent Big Ten title ā an outlier:

Im starting to think every ounce of credit for the 2024 natty belongs to a couple of coaches that aren't in Columbus anymore...
Wish we had a chance to see whether or not that was actually the case
Until we see him play, it could just as easily be the coaching staff has failed to develop him and maximize his talent

Tsc got beat out by a freshman. There are no chances given to guys that lose their jobs to freshman with half their talent. He go to Bowling green to show case his chance
Iām making excuses for the team that just put belt to ass to us in our own stadium? š
Those are just facts. And it was Dayās choice to start a freshman. You had the same opportunity to go out and get a QB to be the backup and didnāt
Not to mention not even giving TSC a chance
Replying to @CFB_KB
He has another starter not a freshman. And still has the same 3 losses. To much worse talented teams. Youre making excuses for them but not day
Lanning has a 2-1 record vs Ohio State and unlike Day has actually kept his team competitive despite losing their starting QB
Morris would definitely fall into the Chesney/Dickert category. Love what Iāve seen, just need to see it consistently
DC hire would be crucial bc his Cowboys canāt stop a nosebleed
Replying to @CFB_KB
no morris for oklahoma state is insane to what he did at north texas and immediately turned oklahoma state around
Dan Lanning is 2-1 against Ohio State with both wins coming in Columbus. Iād say those are pretty big wins
Replying to @CFB_KB
Dan Lanning and Heupel have no track record of winning any big games. Freeman is the only one Iād be happy with but no shot in hell he leaves
Fleck has had a great career at Minnesota, coached multiple NFL players, and excels in the areas Day lacks
Not to mention 8+ wins 4 out of the last 5yrs with very little in NIL, and a 7-0 bowl record
